HUMANS BEING HUMAN HELPING OUR HOMELESS COMMUNITY

This petition is to let our city officials know that we expect change regarding our homeless population. It is to plead to them to 1) open Grace House 2) remove so called "BUM BLOCKS from our Greenbelt and other city benches 3) create safe spaces for families living in their vehicles overnight 4) dedicate more resources, personnel and funding to shelter and psychosocial support for those experiencing homelessness eliminate ineffective Band-Aid solutions for homelessness and focus long-term 5) make affordable housing a priority through zoning allowing for more multi-family units 6) advocate for and protect the rights of vulnerable Kingsport citizens so they may live in dignity 7) guarantee for all housing developments receiving tax incentives from the city have a set aside of at least 10% of units for low income residents
