Please help give a child the chance my daughter did not have. Her case was environmental. Let's stop it from ever happening to another child.
Finding the causes of Childhood Cancer is important and eliminating them is even more so. More research needs to be done spending time with families of cancer patients trying to find patterns. When my Daughter was diagnosed we were asked 3 total questions. Any cancer in family? Past Health of our daughter? Had she ever eaten lead bsed paint chips? That was it. That is unacceptable.
Let's fight to get more research for finding causes and preventing them and also for having our children's blood tested every time they are sick. This will reduce the number of antibiotics they are taking and also help in early diagnosis.
Caylee was 4 years old when she passed and was completely full of life. There was never a bad moment, never a bad memory, except the one where she died.
Caylee was not sick. Thursday - 99.1 Fever, Friday - vomiting - I thought Stomach Virus, Saturday - misdiagnosed as a Stomach Virus with no blood being drawn, Sunday she slept most of the day, Monday to the Pediatrician - diagnosed Leukemia and the next night she died with a white blood count of 283,000.
I was told it was environmentally caused because Caylee had translocations and mutations of her DNA. Not all cases of Leukemia have this RED FLAG. She had two. The first was a Trisomy 8, an extra copy of her number 8 chromosome, which would mean that if it had been present at birth or in utero, she would have had either Myelodysplastic Syndrome (Pre-Leukemia) or been severly deformed and possibly mentally disabled. The other was a translocation of her chromosomes 9 and 11. They completely swapped places. The ONLY time they see this, is with Acute Myeloid Leukemia. Again, meaning that if she had this at birth or in utero, she would have had Leukemia at birth. This means something caused my daughter's DNA to mutate.
The fact is: Leukemia is not a hereditary disease, only one type is caused by a Virus, there are other people sick and my daughter was predisposed to Leukemia because of something in the environment poisoning her. I intend to find it and stop it! I am her mother in death and in life and I will protect her in death as I would in life. I will not let my child die in Vain.....
Remember they currently have no Cure for Childhood Cancer... Since there is no cure, Please help me find the CAUSE....
