Keep the FCPA from eliminating two of its long standing hard workers positions. For years Hidden Pond has thrived under the current staff, with great fun programs, Birthday Parties Field Trips and more for kids, with regular patrons that return time after time. A thriving volunteer program, Hidden Pond's workers are more then capable of continuing to run smoothly and keep increasing its success.
The FCPA wants to give Hidden Oaks managment of both parks. Fact: Hidden Pond runs the most summer camps in the district Fact: Most of the camps at Hidden Pond fill to 90% capacity Fact: Hidden Pond is meeting projected revenue numbers.
So, why should a site that is producing be cut yet again, when other sites with more staff aren't?
Our cuts are the only ones this severere, they have not cut every site. For some reason the powers at FCPA are coming down twice as hard on Hidden Pond. Please ask them why. Sign and Call this number 703-324-3151 to talk to the FCPA and make a difference.

Keep Hidden Pond as it is. The cuts are not justified. Hidden Pond is a wonderful place, with dedicated staff and volunteers. I am outraged at the proposed cuts. Find another way to make the budget work, without destroying our Nature Center.

Hidden Pond nature center is an AMAZING place that has given so much to lots of kids who go there for programs to learn about nature and to all the teenage volunteers. It is one of the best centers in the country and has a very hands on approach to nature. If the country goes through with its plans the amazing management and everything that makes Hidden Pond special would be ruined.

I loved Hidden Pond when I was a kid, and if I still lived in the local area, I know I would love it now.

I have fond childhood memories of Hidden Pond and it would truly be a shame if other people are denied the opportunity to make their own memories at the center. The staff was always exceptionally capable, friendly, and welcoming and made the experience memorable.

Hidden Pond is a gem. I go there to find peace. My sons love playing in the creeks and forests and hunting for animals. The staff is first-rate, very knowledgeable and helpful. Access to Hidden Pond was a large part of our decision to move to Springfield. The education that goes on there touches tens of thousands of people each year. These are assets not easily replicable. Hidden Pond and the other nature centers must be funded and if the County doesn't stand behind them then environmental stewardship and quality of life in the county is a farce.

I grew up going to hidden pond, as did my parents. I'm disappointed to hear of the changes going on and I am very opposed to them. Hidden pond is an experience that doesn't need improving or tweaking.

We have frequently visited Hidden Pond over the years and are upset with the proposed changes that the FCPA wants to put in place. Hidden Pond is a valuable asset to the community and is run effectively by many volunteers and management staff. I oppose changing the management in any way. It will undoubtedly affect the way Hidden Pond will be able to run its many valued programs in the future. Hidden Pond should be recognized for the wonderful establishment it has been for so many years and keep it all the same.
