We really need a place for the K-9 citizens of this community to be able to play and run off leash. One of the problem with dogs that has sprung up recently is animals becoming aggressive with people and other animals. This can be documented as being caused by lack of adequate socialization with other people and animals. This can NOT be provided by keeping a dog behind a fence or tied to a run all day long but CAN be provided even in a town setting by making sure the dogs have the opportunity to interact with each other in a safe (fenced) environment like a dog park. I believe the people in this community would benefit greatly from the addition of a dog park to the area. P.S. Please spay or neuter your pets!

It would be awesome to have a dog park in Sparta. It's a great location for such a venue because there is plenty of space for it. I have 2 dogs, and all they do is sit around all day barking at stuff. I can take them for a walk,but it would be great to be able to get them out sometime and take them to a place where they can run around other than the back yard.

The only way a dog park is possible is if all the people in the entire area are respectful to animals. When people have learnt to respect life in any form, will a dog park be safe enough to be used. Until that day it is still too dangerous for any non human animal to wander around in parks.
