Get the state of Maryland to have and enforce anti-chaining laws.

This petition is to create a bill in Maryland to be passed into law for our pets to make it illegal to have any pet chained for any length of time. Our current law allows chaining for certain periods of time, but that time is not monitored and our pets are being chained for days, weeks, and months at  a time. This bill, if passed into law, will prohibit any animal being chained. It is cruel and many of our pets are being abused and mistreated while they are tethered. Let us join in the fight for our beloved pets and put an end to their misery. No animal deserves to be put on the end of a chain!!
We the undersigned are writing to ask that a bill be created and passed into law to make it illegal in the State of Maryland for any pet to be chained or tethered for any period of time. It is impossible to monitor how long an animal has been chained and there is much abuse and mistreatment of our beloved pets to allow chaining to continue in our wonderful State. We must set an example of what is right and show those in and around our State that no form of animal abuse or mistreatment will be allowed. Thank you so much for taking the time to review this letter and the signatures for our cause.
Sincerely yours,
Norma Boxall
