Austin Roberts Bird Sanctuary

During summer 2010, the Austin Roberts Bird Sanctuary in Pretoria, South Africa, was devastated by floods and rain. This has left muddy water and debris in the lakes - affecting waterfowl habitat - as well as broken bird hides and boardwalks.

We are calling on the Department of Agriculture and Environmental Management: Nature Conservation and Resorts of the City of Tshwane, to take urgent action to address the damage, restoring the waterbird habitat and ensuring that breeding and feeding areas are adequately rehabilitated prior to the 2010 spring breeding season.
