This is so disgraceful and shocking that ANY country would do something so cruel as to remove a pet from his loving home. It has been proven time and again that pitbulls are NOT agressive by nature. It's their owner who teaches them to be agressive or NOT. It's the owner who's responsible for a dog's behavior. Dogs are very sociable animals and are not wildlife. When will people realize this and stop blaming the animals themselves? Pitbulls are precious and loving dogs. They deserve nothing but kindness and comfort.

I'm a vet and I do not believe that breed specific legislation reduces the problems it was introduced to alleviate, which are rather complex and have little to do with individual breed or type. Instead we should applaud responsible dog ownership and continue to educate people on the appropriate choice of pet and how to have a loving and trusting relationship with their dog. Looking at the supporting photos of Bruce, this dog appeared well socialised, happy and much-loved in his family home. He should be returned to his owners so they can care for him properly.

The way he is being treated is digusting, get in touch with the RSPCA and report the centre which is supposed to be holding him, they are bound by duty of care to keep him fit well and comfortable. You know this seriously hurts me! I love all animals and while I watched and read this I began to cry because my baby (Kodah an American Eskimo dog) brought me his toy and lay next to me. As if to say "Mommy I love you. Are you alright?" I can't even begin to feel or think of the pain of having him taken away!!!! Now due to my crying I got him worked up and whining. There is no law ageist a person with glasses or with a type of skin being killed over the way they look. To those of us that take care of our pets, we love them they are our children. Would you kill my child?

Let Bruce go home and stop killing innocent dogs because of a stereotype. There is no such thing as a bad breed of dog....they are what people make them. Puppymills where the dogs are mass produced for profit with no regard to health or temperment and irresponsible owners who neglect, abuse or encourage their dogs to be aggressive are to blame. BSL targets the wrong end of the leash and only hurts responsible breeders and owners because the irresponsible ones dont care. Any breed of dog is capable of aggression if they're not treated right. The way Bruce and his owner are being treated is cruel, just let him go home please.

This is ridiculous! Because owners FIGHT these breeds and teach them to be as mean as possible, and FIGHT FOR THEIR LIVES they all should be condemed? My father had many pits and they were all the sweetest things, he had them all until they passed. Never once was I scared of those dogs nor anyone that came over, they were given so much love they were anything but violent attackers! How about other dogs that when they become old, develop memory loss and attack their owners should we go ahead and put them all down before they grow old, just to prevent this??? Is it then okay to let this poor inocent, precious faced baby have open lesions on his nose that could kill him? AMPUTATED TAIL?!?!?! That is animal cruetly and ABUSE! Bruce is not a pitbull, please set him free. I know several people that have pitbulls, and rottweilers, and dobermans that are wonderful family pets. if you raise them right they are sweet dogs even though they might be on the "dangerous dog lists". I just don't understand all this hatred toward a certain breed/type of dog. I have a mixed breed, Luna, who looks very much like she is part "pit bull type dog" whether Staffy or Am. Pit Bull, no one knows. I do know that she is a sweet dog who only does harm to stuffed toys. This poor dog has a similar face and body shape to my Luna. I hope Bruce can be reunited with his family. This is an outrageous act of animal cruelty.
