Please sign to unchain dogs in Kyle, TX

We are working to help stop the dangerous and cruel practice of chaining and tethering dogs as a means of stationary confinement. Our mission is to promote humane and responsible treatment of dogs. As an alternative to dog chaining, Chain Free Hays County encourages bringing the dog into the home and family whenever possible. A secure and humane fenced enclosure is also a viable alternative for outdoor confinement.

Please show your support to change the lives of pets in Kyle, TX. We are striving for enough petitions to sway the Kyle City Council to vote yes to Kyle becoming chain free. The Mayor, Lucy Johnson, supports the chain free ordinance. Becky Selbera (beckydist2@yahoo.com) initially voted yes for a chain-free ordinance in Kyle, but changed her vote to no the second time during her re-election, which stopped the ordinance from being passed. Less than a week after the ordinance did not pass, a dog was found dead, still attached to a chain outside in the heat without food, water, or shelter.
