CenterPoint Houston to relinquish 25% of service area

Over the past year CenterPoint Energy servicing Houston and surrounding areas has proven to be lacking in customer service.  They have repeatedly demonstrated that their service area is too large for them to maintain thus leaving customers without power, poor power transmission quality, misread meters, etc.  The only way to force CenterPoint to improve their customer service is to force them to relinquish at least 25% of their service area to competing companies, thus eliminating the monopoly that they currently hold on the Houston and surrounding areas and to improve competition and service between the different transmission providers.

Key Points for this to occur are as follows:
1) Poor customer service.
2) Misread meters.
3) Poor response time to fix problems.
4) Several areas constantly provided with poor quality power transmission for years with no sign of improvement.
5) Major energy providers such as Reliant, TXU, etc will not pass on customer complaints, or even talk with CenterPoint.
6) Poor performance during natural disasters end up costing customers millions of dollars in suffering during electricity down time that can be alleviated with improved service.

If you are a customer of any energy provider that uses CenterPoint as their maintenance of transmission lines and you are fed up with the poor quality and lack of service then sign up and lets get some changes made.  Face it is up to us to make changes, we can't wait for the city council, energy providers, or even the government to enforce any changes, but we can if we all speak with one voice.  Sign the petition and make our voice heard and force a change.

We the undersigned, have been dissatisfied with the service provided by CenterPoint in the Houston (TX) and surrounding areas.  We call for CenterPoint to relinquish at least 25% of it's service area to competing transmission maintenance companies thus improving competition, reducing  costs to customers, and as a result improving quality of power transmission.
