Jonathan Simcox and Steven Ondo experienced extreme discrimination at the hands of the Cleveland Police Department because they are gay.
They fell victim to an assault by a police officer who stopped them in the street because they were arguing and "disturbing the peace". They were arrested but were not found guilty of anything.
A week later, they were sleeping when they heard a loud noise and went downstairs to find SWAT team members raiding their home, telling them they were there on a warrant for "assaulting a peace officer".
Because it was the middle of the night, Simcox and Ondo were only wearing underwear and shirts. They were taken to jail and denied many requests for pants, being told that "f****** don't deserve to wear pants in jail".
Please tell the Cleveland Police Department to prosecute the offending officers and stand up for the LGBT community!
Dear Cleveland Police Department,
Jonathan Simcox and Steven Ondo were recently assaulted and then later faced extreme discrimination at the hands of several Cleveland Police Department officers because they are gay. They were taken to jail without pants and told that "f****** don't deserve to wear pants in jail". The couple was not found guilty of anything.
Please prosecute the officers involved in this and stand up for the LGBT community!
