Tell Fox News and Todd Starnes to End Racist Reporting

While covering this election year's time-honored political tradition, the New Hampshire primary held in tiny Dixville Notch, Todd Starnes of Fox News Radio used the event to share his version of what "America is all about."

According his report, this includes his not finding "...any black panthers with baseball bats," at the scene.

Starnes depiction of  members of the former and only legitimate Black Panther Party (now the Dr. Huey P. Newton Foundation) as violent, distorts the Party's fundamental principle that "A true revolutionary is guided by great feelings of love."

Adding insult to injury, Starnes described the all-white voting population of the small town as "good American folks, doing their patriotic duty,"  words which, in the context of his other remarks, only reinforce the racism in his commentary.

There is no excuse for this kind of racist commentary in the news media.
Tell Fox News and Starnes to End Their Racist Reporting.
We, the undersigned, strongly object to the language your Fox Radio News reporter, Todd Starnes, used and the images he evoked while covering the election event in New Hampshire today.

Other than ignorant, there's no other word to describe this coverage besides racist.

Starnes not only depicted members of the former Black Panther Party (now the Dr. Huey P. Newton Foundation) as violent, distorting the Party's fundamental principle that "A true revolutionary is guided by great feelings of love," he ignorantly implied that the Black Panther Party still exists.

Adding insult to injury, Starnes described the all-white voting population of the small town as "good American folks, doing their patriotic duty,"  words which, in the context of his other  racist comments, only reinforce the prejudice in his commentary.

We request you find other reporters to cover historical and other events and end your support of racist reporting.

Thank you for your attention to these concerns.
