In honor of MLK Day, Fox News hosted King's conservative niece Alveda King, who spent her time on the news network trying to portray King as a "pro-life social conservative".
Alveda is known to be an anti-abortion advocate and has been trying to get people to believe that MLK shared her views. She labeled herself a "reformed murderer" for having two abortions when she was younger, and compared same-sex marriage to genocide because of the hypothetical children that would not be born.
Despite what she has said, MLK strongly supported family planning, especially in relation to issues like poverty, population control, and quality of life. He even won the first ever Margaret Sanger award, which was named after Planned Parenthood's founder, in 1966.
Instead of correcting Alveda King's misinformation, Fox News allowed her to depict him as the exact opposite of what he was.
Tell Fox News to set the record straight about Martin Luther King Jr.!
Dear Fox News,
Alveda King recently went on Fox News to talk about her uncle, Martin Luther King Jr., in honor of MLK day. Instead of accurately talking about his legacy, she made him out to be a "pro-life social conservative", the opposite of what he was.
Please set the record straight about Martin Luther King Jr. and don't allow Alveda King's misinformation to go uncorrected.
