A Gibraltar Barbary ape, like the group to be destroyed

Stop government from killing Gibraltar's Barbary Apes

Target:
Ernest Britto, Gibraltar Minister of Tourism
Sponsored by:
The Gibraltar territory's government has plans to kill a group of 25 Barbary apes, which have been "stealing food, entering rooms through open windows and harassing tourists" at Catalan Bay, a popular tourist destination with a luxury hotel.  Please voice your opposition, and request that the Gibraltar territory's government does not follow through with these plans!

We understand that the Gibraltar territory's government has plans to kill a group of 25 Barbary apes, which have been "stealing food, entering rooms through open windows and harassing tourists" at Catalan Bay, a popular tourist destination with a luxury hotel.  Please reconsider this option, and do not follow through with these plans until alternative options have been explored, such as relocation or deterrants to the group's encroachment.

Please find another solution so that these animals do not have to be destroyed. They also have a right to share the earth with us.

They are so beautiful - please leave them alone they were there before mankind. Why do people wantonly destroy creatures that cannot defend themselves. So they are a bit naughty but there are ways that could be devised to keep them from getting into mischief.

Animals are not responsible for human errors; hence they're not the ones who should pay the penalty!

In South Africa a key discussion is sustainable tourism and the value of our wildlife. I am sure that this is true also for Gibraltar. The apes of Gibraltar are a central element of the area and provide a tourist attraction that will be ongoing. They are part of your natural heritage. PLEASE do all you can to preserve them - relocate - sterilise - but DO not kill them. It will be your loss in the long term. Thank you. Laureen Bertin

The Barbary Apes should actually be a tourist attraction. It is gratuitous violence to kill these sentient, intelligent beings. Rather use other means to keep them out of buildings.

the easiest way is never the best way. There are other avenues which have to be explored first of how to handle the situation. Killing is not an option!

Inhumane and disgusting. We don't cull people, leave innocent animals alone! They were here before we were, and most certainly before "tourists" and they don't cause nearly as much destruction as man.

It is this is the sort of wanton disregard for the needs of animals and complete lack of empathy and respect that leads to tourist boycotts.

why is it than when humans have a'problem' with animals, they run to the "KILL THEM" solution? what about all of the problems that humans cause the animal kingdom? with this in mind, it should be us who are kileld off since we have no right to invade other animals environments or habitats. you may think it is the apes who are invading our territory, but is this really the case? who was there first? us or them? i tend to think them so why kill them? why??? can you not think of another solution? are you that brain dead? there are many other options and if you go through with the this planned mass-murder, consider me no longer someone with spainish blood running through her veins. this plan is shameful and you are pathetic excuses for human beings - in fact, you are a great example of how problematic we (humans) as a species are. we argue that our brain capacity is larger than all other creatures. we agrue that we are the smartest beings on the planet. well, you would be proving these agruments incorrect. u can surely think of another option. relocating them is one of many. have you even asked around to see if any one out there is interested in taking them in? if not, then what you are planning is NOT MORAL and is a crime against our planet. why do you cant such negative attention on you? why are you so barbaric that you can't think of another plan? why are you even alive? you dont deserve to live. the apes do as they have not done ANYTHING wrong, even if you and your selfish guests feel as though you are the victims of this horrible tale. shame! poor humans! cant handle mother nature. you are all a waste ogf energy and air.

These Apes have as much right to be in your area as the tourists (if not more).

Please consider options - these animals dont deserve to die because humans come too close to where they live!!!
