México Verde (Green Mexico): Gray Whales
Gray whales are an endangered species, and Mexico has declared its waters a marine mammal sanctuary... still, help is needed to protect these huge whales.
TV Azteca is a local Mexican company; they have started a program in order to protect gray whales. Gray whales are considered to be Mexican, since they are born in Mexican waters. TV spots have been created to promote respect and care towards wildlife, through images, videos and information distribution.
* The purpose of this petition is to show this green group that we care about these beautiful giants. Gray whales are welcomed by Mexico after their long journey from cold waters, but still, there are some people who don't realize the importance of keeping oceans clean and respecting whales. "La ballena gris es una especie de cetáceo misticeto de la familia Eschrichtiidae de tamaño medio que en la actualidad sólo habita la zona norte del océano Pacífico.
Es uno de los mamíferos que realiza una de las migraciones más largas, pues se desplaza desde las bahías del norte de México, donde la hembra pare a su cría en invierno, hasta el norte del mar de Bering, donde se alimenta en verano.
Tan sólo algunas de las causas de que estas ballenas estén en peligro de extinción son la caza excesiva y la contaminación de los mares formada principalmente por plásticos, vidrios, etc. que tira la gente y por los derrames de petróleo.
Sin duda, más motivos no se necesitan para comenzar desde hoy el rescate de una de las especies marinas más bellas del océano."

The gray whales, as all wildlife, are even more important for the next generations. We care for all living creatures, especially endangered ones and wish there would be more people and companies like TV Azteca! Bless you all!
They are a vital part of our oceans. They need to be respected and protected
I will visit Mexico only when the gray whales are protected by some strong legislation

Gray Whales are beautiful, intelligent, sentient creatures. We need, as a world at large, to promote their well-being and care. Let's stick together and guarantee the survival of these magnificent creatures.
Whales are important to everybody. if whales becme extinct then there will be no hope for the human race.
