Support Texas Legislation Against Real ID
Lack of federal funding, serious privacy and civil liberties concerns over the Real ID Act of 2005 and its regulations have provoked 25 states to move legislation against the national ID program, including Texas.
Please show your support to stop Homeland Security from anchoring your identity to a globalized identity grid, complete with surveillance technologies in our ID cards like, RFID and biometrics (DNA, facial recognition technology, body scans). Sign our petition!!
Attention distingushed members of the 81st Legislature,
We the undersigned support efforts to intercept compliance with the Federal Real ID Act, even as it is being currently repealed. Over 25 states have expressed resistance to the Real ID Act based on costs, privacy and constitutional infringements of the 4th and 10th amendments.
Please receive these signatures as evidence that Texas would express its desire to reject the federal Real ID Act and as direct support for legislation expressing the intention of the Texas Legislature not to implement the federal REAL ID Act of 2005.
