The system involving the use of the death penalty and its administration is fundamentally flawed. It is time to put a halt to this atrocity! Please take a moment to consider this petition! EVERY voice matters!

We the undersigned,

Hope that you take the time to at least read this letter in its entirety
before disregarding it. As you can see, this petition is signed by a
number of citizens both locally and nationally, as well as globally.
We have taken the time to bring our concerns to you, and at the very
least, hope and pray that you will at the very least hear our voices.

We are writing to ask you to please halt the following executions:

Regardless of whether you philosophically support the death penalty,
there are NUMEROUS reasons why the system is not working and should be
halted in its current state to avoid committing further injustices and
tragedies.

There will be a 2009 Death Penalty Report that is currently being put
together by: Abolish the Death Penalty Now!, which is a thorough,
extensive research/analysis of all these issues... you will be getting a
copy of this Report. At the very least, put off this execution until
you have had the time to read this report.

Please care enough about life and doing the right thing to consider this
request, do not bow to political pressures... but be willing to do the
right thing. Like someone once told me, It may not always easy to do
what's right, but it is ALWAYS right...

To State Senators and State Governors. Dear Sir/Madam, There are numerous flaws pertaining to the implementation of the death penalty. This system of dealing with offenders is not fool proof and time and time again we see cases before us where offenders have been handed death row sentences where they are not the killer, where their IQ is well below average and therefore going against the constitution of the United States, where their State lawyer has not only not defended them effectively but even worse in some cases where the State lawyer has worked against their own client. While I do acknowledge that many people in this system do work to uphold the law it must be stated that many offenders are railroaded and let down by our system. While this is the case none of us are safe because it could happen to anyone of us. We are looking to you our State Senators and State Governors to end State sanctioned killing. I acknowledge that there are those offenders who are a danger to society and to themselves and should not be free in those cases they could be sentenced to life without parole. Thank you for your time.
