Jayci and her dad Jason in happier days.

Help Jayci be with her Dad as she dies

Target:
Warden Whitehead, Yankton Federal Prison YAN/EXECASSISTANT@bop.gov
Jayci Yaeger is dying of brain cancer.  She seems to be hanging on, waiting for her father to hold her hand and calm her fears.  Jason Yaeger is in Federal Prison in Yankton, SD for a drug crime set to be released to a half way house in August.  She'll not likely make it that long.  We believe this is cruel punishment of a innocent child and ask for mercy from the Warden.

Dear Warden Whitehead,
We the undersigned ask that you re-consider your decision regarding furlough for inmate Jason Yaeger on behalf of his daughter Jayci.  This is a rare chance for you, in your hands is the power to grant a dying child her last wish.  It is abundantly clear that Jayci is suffering a cruel punishment that she does not deserve.  We ask that you reconsider your decision and demonstrate some compassion for this innocent child.
Sincerely,

Please reconsider your choice and grant this poor little girl her last wish with the utmost urgency. This is an extraordinary circumstance if there ever was one.

Dear Warden. Is there no other way, can you not release him temporarily. Deem him some piece of mind, do what you must, but do it for his daughters sake. I do not know what kind of behavior he has displayed for his four years served out of five, I would think it would be better to let him go, and i am sure he will not give you trouble if you do this one thing of his dearly departing daughter. Have a Heart, Share some Care. -Brian J. Allen

Not to make light of a drug crime but come on!!! A child is dying and her father sits in jail. Is there any compassion left in the world today? I beg of you, please allow this child to see her father most likely for one last time. WHAT IF IT WERE YOUR CHILD???????????

I feel very strongly that this man should be inprisoned. However, he should be allowed to see his dying child for longer than 30 min a couple of times a month. He will NEVER see her again. She will without a doubt die before he is released and he should be allowed to go to her so she can pass in peace. Think about if you were that child's father and you had made a few mistakes in life. Would you want your mistakes to keep you from seeing your daughter/son for the last time?? Would you want a mistake you made to keep the child from knowing you loved them so much that you would be there for them as they lie dying??? Hes already volluntered to double his time left, if you let him spend her last days with him. Let the man do it! Keep your BEST guards on him 24/7 if you have worries about what he may do.

If this is not an extraordinary circumstance to allow this father to be with his daughter during these precious last minutes of her life, then there is no such thing as extraordinary. Have a compassionate heart, and allow this precious girl her last wish.

Please do the right thing and let her father out of prison to be with his daugther Jayci at her bedside. If this is not "extraordinary justification" then what is? I would ask that the warden put himself in this situation. How would you feel if you knew that your child was asking for your comfort in this time of need and you couldn't be there. Once Jayci is gone, shes gone forever. You can't bring her back. How can you live with yourself knowing that you could have done something but didn't? Do the right thing for Jayci, its her last wish.

Don't think of this as allowing Mr. Yeager a privilege, but allowing a girl to see her daddy one last time....
# 855:

Please help Jayci be with her daddy. As a mom, I cannot imagine the pain this family is going through - the pain this little girl is going through. There is NO reason why Jason can't be moved to the halfway house a few months early to make this possible. How heartless can our system be when it denies a dying wish of a 10 year old girl?
# 854:

I treat cancer patients everyday and I watch them die, with their family members at their side. This little girl should not be denied that! She is holding on to see her father one last time before she DIES. How do you say no to that?

Warden Whitehead, from what I understand about judgement and sentencing is that one could MURDER someone and serve less time than one who has been convicted of a DRUG CHARGE, and non-violent at that! I hope and pray that you never have to be faced with such turmoil. Not only does Jayci Yaeger's father have a sentence for a crime, but he also has a LIFE sentence of guilt for his actions. On the, MOST IMPORTANT, other hand, little Jayci has done NOTHING wrong! Just remember your day of judgement will come, and you will be tried and sentenced for your actions on this Earth. You may have to pay an ultimate price for not searching your own heart for just a moment and granting a child's dying wish. Put yourself in Jayci's shoes for a moment, and ask yourself "What Would Jesus Do" in this situation. I don't even know this family, but I am a Mother, and I know I would lay down my life for my children, and I'm sure Mr. Yaeger would make different decisions if he had the chance. You giving this little girl a moment of happiness may be the best gift you will EVER give to anyone!!

Warden Whitehead, I have written you a letter, emailed you a letter, and called you by phone. Please be compassionate and let this family heal together. No prison sentence can equal the loss of a child for a parent. Esp a little girl for a daddy. It has already broken the father's heart. Don't break his spirit completely. He's served his time. Lets do the right thing!

I'm a concerned citizen and father and am disturbed by this issue. I would hope the Warden will let this man be with his child and/or explain his position. Granted, I do not know all the issues here, but on the outside this does not pass the common-sense or straight-face test.

# 839:

To all concerned citizens, for that precious little girl's sake, please allow her daddy to be with her while she is dying of brain cancer. This is not too much to ask! All she wants is to hold her daddy's hand and feel secure as she faces the end of her life for goodness sake! How can you continue to deny this precious child her one last wish? This is a despicable thing to do to a dying child and anyone attempting to keep that daddy from being with his daughter is doing a horrible and cruel thing to this innocent child! Please for the name of all humanity and decency allow that daddy to stay there by her side in her hospital room until she passes from this life to her eternal home to be with the Lord. If you allow her to die without that wish being honored you can count yourself without honor or decency. It is the only right thing to do. She needs her daddy there and that should be done immediately.

IT SOUNDS LIKE THIS LITTLE GIRL NEEDS HER FATHER AND HE IS ONLY IN FOR DRUG CHARGES. I AGREE THAT PEOPLE WHO DO THE CRIME SHOULD ALSO DO THE TIME, BUT YOU HAVE ALL THESE MURDERERS AND RAPISTS OUT THERE WHO ARE RUNNING SCOTT FREE AND YOU CAN'T LET A FATHER WHO IS IN FOR DRUG CHARGES BE WITH HIS DYING DAUGHTER. HOW SAD IS THIS? WHAT IS THIS WORLD COMING TO?THIS PRECIOUS CHILD WANTS AND NEEDS HER DADDY AND YOU CAN'T FIND IT IN YOUR HEARTS TO GRANT HER AND HER FATHER HER DYING WISH. THIS IS CRAZY AND THIS LITTLE GIRL MAY NOT LAST LONG. THE LORD FORGAVE US FOR OUR SINS AND YET WE STILL SIN EACH AND EVERY DAY. IF THE LORD CAN FORGIVE US FOR OUR STUPID SINS, THEN WHY CAN'T WE FORGIVE THIS MAN AND GIVE HIM THE CHANCE TO BE WITH HIS DAUGHTER BEFORE HER TIME IS UP. MAYBE HE HAS LEARNED HIS LESSON. LET THE LORD BE IN CONTROL, THIS BABY NEEDS HER DADDY.

This man has served almost all of his sentence and apparently has been a model prisoner. Answer this little girl's prayers and let her have the comfort of knowing her daddy is there. We always hear about early release for violent offenders which this man is not, why not allow that in this case considering how much time is left? I will be praying for all including you. I would like for Jayci to have her dying wish no matter what circumstances surround this situation!!! This is not about her dad, the warden, the media (although they have helped alot). This is about JAYCI period!!! She is in the last days of her all too short little life. This little girl has been sick with cancer since age 3. She can't ever remember a time in her life when she hasn't been sick. She will never be able to have her own family and perhaps one day be a mother herself. I know lots of people that are faced with similar situations and no one ever said life was fair. It is easy to give our opinions about ('Why should she get special treatment?") as we can sit in our easy chairs and know we will probably have tomorrow where Jacyi won"t. I say shame on you and for once try putting yourself in Jayci's shoes before you give your lame opinions!!! This whole family has suffered and so many more are right now and will continue all I ask is "why can't we grant a little girl's last wish?? This is no different than the "make a wish" foundation!! The family is not asking for the father to get out of prison early, they just want Jayci's last wish fulfilled before she goes to heaven!!

I hope the national press and citizens of this country keep the spotlight and pressure on you to grant Jaxon Yeager to be with his daughter as she passes to the next life. A visit is one thing but being there for her in her final moments is way more. I lost my daughter at 5 1/2 months. I cannot imagine not being there for her that last moment. Please have a heart and let this girl have her mommy and daddy by her side when she grows her wings. I believe that while Jason Yaeger needs to serve his time, he does need a brief reprieve to spend time with his dying daughter. It is cruel to punish Jayci by withholding her father from her on her deathbed.
# 814:

Please don't punish this child who has been through enough. Just because the father has done something wrong doesn't mean Jayci should be deprived of the comfort it will bring to her to see her father before she goes to her heavenly home.
# 813:

Dear Warden Whitehead! I work with Jayci's aunt and have been hearing about this little girl's difficulties for quite sometime. I really believe that she needs to see her father before she dies. It's like a "last wish" situation. Please think very carefully about this, as her wishes during her last hours on this earth hinge on your decision as to whether or not she can spend more time with her father. Thank you for your consideration of this request. I believe you will be blessed by God according to your decision. Virginia

Bring peace to this little girl. Having had cancer myself, this young girl is weak, and in pain and emotionally suffering, you need to let her die peacefully, she needs her daddy so she can let go... and let God make her whole again.

I am a Sergeant with a large Sheriff's Department in California. I see people granted early release for very trivial things. This seems to be not only a legitimate reason for early release, but just the compassionate thing to do. Jayci will get the comfort of her father being present as she passes, and Jason will be changed by this experience. It is the right thing to do.
# 806:

I think it is terrible that a non-violent person with little time left on his sentence is kept from a little girls wish. How cold hearted are you people??? It's not like he will not return to finish his sentence. I have often heard that people are heartless, but I always thought everyone has a heart. Obviously you people dont and are very cold hearted!! You know the saying...what goes around comes around. Hopefully you people will never have to experience the death of a child.

Let this man go see his daughter. Im sure he is feeling sick enough knowing he is in jail for the remainder of his daughters short life. This man is due out in 5 short months, where unfortunatly his little angel would have passed on by then. Let him be with his daughter please. This little girl has gone through enough tough times.
# 804:
7:23 am PDT, Mar 27, Chandra Corcoran, Florida
We all come to crossroads during life and one small thing can change our direction forever. Warden, please ask yourself, how can I help this man head in the right direction? That is the ultimate goal of our correction system, is it not? I ask that you allow Jaycie and her dad to spend time together before she passes not to "grant a wish" or to "do a favor" but to help him take another road with his life. Giving him the experience of the pure and innocent love and brief happiness of his dying child will change him. The alternative is to take a non-violent criminal and give him reason to take revenge on our society and the "system."
# 803:

Dear Wareden Whitehead: I do not know this man personally, but the case is certainly compelling. If the man has a record of good behavior and this is a first offence I definitley think he should be released to a half way house in order to comfort his daughter. A four month early release does not seem too much to ask for the well being of the child, other relatives and the immense good will of the community. Thank you for your consideration.

In life, decisions need to be made in the context of the situation. I agree that the entire context need be considered. In this case unless there is evidence and it can be shown that the father is a threat to soceity, that his TEMP release will cause other significant issues within the prison or elsewhere; there is not any comprehensible reason to keep this terminally ill daughter from possibly enjoying her final days with the father she loves and desparately needs. This is not about the father, the crime he committed or from what I can tell any type of security threat. This is about a little child that any of us could have someday including you Mr. Warden that change the fathers situation the slightest bit and you could be the one on the receiving end of something that could prevent a child from having something that the rest of us could never quantify. I could not imagine what one of my boys would go through in this situation. Again, Im not here to argue about the punishment of the father, reduction of sentence or anything of the sort, he has stated he will finish out his term and even double it. This is about an innocent child who needs her dad, something we all needed (albeit to a much lesser extent) in our lives and surely you can relate to that. Please take the time to reconsider ASAP and make this happen. This is an extraordinary circumstance. How can it be anything but that. If this isn't then you are basically saying there isn't anything in the world that would qualify as extraordinary. Show some common sense here and do what is right Please. For the girl, not me, the public, or the family but for the one that would benefit from this. The father will suffer more than you can ever inflict on him as it is. Once again, please reconsider, thank you.

One man suggested we might set up an IP cam link for them. Anyone out there that can make it happen? Email me ASAP please.
