Target:
Children and Communities
Sponsored by:
Baltimore County Board of Education has made a blanket policy to not grant permits to Recreation Councils,Booster Clubs,PTA's and other non-profit community organizations for funraisers at school facilities.Included are basket bingo's , raffles ,Quarter auctions . These organizations are ran by volunteers within the communities which they are supporting. They recieve NO government fundings, therefore, they rely on donations and fundraising .With out the ability to utilize the school facilities with ultimately gain benefits from these organizations these much needed community/school organizations /programs will parrish. Please help us to let Baltimore County Board of Education  know that we do not support thier decision to block responsible non-profit organizations from using the facilities that our tax dollars support!

We the undersigned would like for the Baltimore County Board of Education to support our community non-profit organizations .We believe that the policy to disallow fundraising ,ie,raffles ,basket bingo's, flea markets/craft fairs ,quarter auctions and such events is unfair. We feel that fundraising in school facilities should be allowed . This will permit us to continue our non profit programs. We would like your board to support our children and communities.

Our community loves to come together at these Bingo's to show a sense of community. The fact that the children are benefiting from it is a BONUS.

Fundraisers are a way to raise money needed for children to enjoy the fun activities that are available to them. Taking that away, is taking away their childhood. There is no reason for the Fundraising to stop. Plus, people enjoy buying goodies from them.

I don't understand what the issue is with fundraising. It benefits the community as a whole. The same community that paid taxes to erect these facilities. Any politician that does not see his/her way clear to help change this outdated policy needs to be voted out of office. We the people do have the power. If you feel you are not being properly represented please vote.

Those who need it, should receive it, no others.

I feel strongly that nonprofit organizations should be able to hold fundraisers with the money used to benefit children and the community. Thank you

I don't think it's fair that you block us from using facilities that our tax dollars pay for. It's hard enough doing these fund raisers based on volunteers, now you want to take away the facilities that we use to have these at?? Are you serious? I think this is unfair and unjust. Where would we have these at? Imagine if you take this away from us, and we cannot get the funds to these kids, ETC. Your gonna have more problems on your hands then. Since the public pays for this, it should be up to us. I am totally againest this, and I hope you think this through before any decisions. Thank You.
