In times of economic hardships, why is the government making it HARDER for ANY industry to flourish and stimulate the economy? Local and organic farming provides jobs and stimulates community livelihood..it's a fact! The government should take this opportunity to INVEST in the only healthful option, not destroy it! Beside the economic issue, there is a disturbing civil rights issue. If people do not feel "safe" consuming organic foods, then choose the conventional, at least the FREE choice is there. If I don't feel safe consuming conventional...I should have the right and option to choose organic. This bill may take this option from me....leaving me with only 1 choice..in essence making up my mind for me. This sounds like a monopoly and benefits only large corporate agri-businesses. How can removing natural choices be in OUR best interest? To me, it seems like one more step to a fully synthetic lifestyle.

I am disgusted by this bill. I am an American, and I have every right to grow my own crops. Why would you impose regulations on what I grow in my backyard? I demand the freedom to grow lettuce, tomatoes, and other organic foods. I am a human being, if I want to feed my family with my own gardening I should be encouraged!!!

Governments and large corporations should not be given the power to micromanage the lives of anyone on this planet. Monsanto and the other agribusinesses have already done enough damage to the environment through manipulation of the food supply. The Senator from Ohio should be held accountable for his actions regarding this bill by the people of Ohio and removed from office should he persist in this course of action.
