IWPO End Whaling Forever!

IWPO End Whaling Forever!

Target:
10000000
WHO ARE WE?

The IWPO already represents more than 80 groups with over 240,000 combined members  forming a united front against whaling.

We are the people of the international community,
And we will defend the oceans
For they are a common heritage of all mankind.

We are people working to fix a problem on a planet filled with problems.
An alliance of the motivated working to protect whales and dolphins from humans who seek to kill them.

We are people. Lots and lots of people.
People from anti-whaling websites, channels and groups united as friends for a good cause.
People are behind the FAQS, links, pictures, videos, websites, forums and groups.
A lot of people and we work as a team to amplify and compliment the efforts of others working towards the same goal.
We use the IWPO for spreading news with ease to hundreds of thousands of eyes and ears.
It is part of a co-ordinated effort to keep a spotlight upon the whalers.

WHY ARE WE HERE?

Our members are concerned about the killing of whales and dolphins and motivated to do something about it.
We invest our time, creativity and money, some even risk their lives, to bring an end to this blot upon humanity.
The whales are roaming the world's oceans and belong to all countries and people.
Unless a stand is made en masse the killing will continue.

We have unknown populations of protected animals migrating accross oceans and they are being indescriminately killed so that a wealthy few and their pets can eat an exotic meat.
It has to end, and we are here to make that happen as soon as possible.

WHY SHOULD YOU JOIN US?

Because we are going to end whaling and we need your help to do it!

We support action against whalers through the courts, people power, IWC, education, diplomatic pressure, the media, boycotts, protests and direct non-violent action.
Using the internet, we help co-ordinate consumers and citizens.
Small actions multiplied by lots of people equals big changes.

The people of the world will stop whaling and the few who would attempt to stand in the way of this forgone conclusion are merely wasting their effort.
This is just the begining, join us and be part of the end.

CAN I SPEAK TO THE LEADER OF THE IWPO?

There is no leader :)
Some of our members are louder than others.
But they lead the IWPO just as much as our quieter members.
The IWPO is not a person, or a group of persons, its a single collective united for a goal.
We shall proceed to expel whalers and their fans from the internet and systematically dismantle whaling industries no matter the country that shelters them.
The IWPO encourages its members to make their stands against the cult of whaling in whatever way they can.
All of us are leaders, all of us are followers and we can all do things to help the collective.
Our weapons against whaling are reason, evidence, argument, consumer education and free speech.
We shall never use direct violence upon the whalers, for that is not the way this works.
The violent shall be weeded out and discarded. We do not need their help.
We are good people, but we are angry about the whaling and we will end it.
To those that underestimate us.... you haven't seen anything yet.

We the undersigned,
Oppose your whaling activity and will do our best using every legal method available to end it forever. We have chosen the "World Council of Whalers" (whaling@shaw.ca) as the target for this letter as we believe that all whaling is obselete and cruel.
Please read through the comments that have been left as we all have our reasons for signing. Thank you for taking the time to read this letter. We like whales, and we had to make our opposition to their killing known.

Whaling is a cruel, brutal, and inhumane sport, ignorant to the fact that whales and dolphins are beautiful, intelligent creatures that need to be protected.

I think humans are selfish to think they are the only intelligent species on the planet. Whales and dolfins are not hunted they are murdered. It is a genocide. I invite the supporters of whaling to get to know this amazing beings, to swim with them and to learn to respect them. I find the arguments for whaling rediculous as there were plenty of fish for all before whaling started. Studies have even proved since the whale numbers have fallen the number of fishes and other species like sea lions have also been affected negatively. The japannese say they want to kill for scientific purposes but you don't throw rocks at birds if you want to see the state of a population. These kind of arguments are false. The japannese felt ashame when in the 1950's there products were considered bad quality. They should feel more ashame now because of their greed and lack of compasion to such beings. When I learnt that Japan wanted to kill humpbacks my perception of the country went down. I used to admire japanese culture. I was a samurai in a past life and I feel ashame for the continuing of whaling. As for Norway I think we should make pressure in buying no oil from Norway.

As a school teacher, I take the time to teach my students about the impact their lifestyles and habits can have upon animals and the environment. I believe they can make a difference, and I want them to know that the current adults and governments are changing their attitudes. Inhumane practices towards any animal are abhorrent, but whaling is particularly indefensible.

I'm not boycotting any countries that support whaling- I'm encouraging their citizens to speak up and demand change.

Who will ever believe the death of 1000 endangered whales is necessary for scientific reasons (opening stomac to see what they eat) ? What will they study when there are no whales left ? Maybe their own brains to see where is the stupidity part hidden ? I bet it's big enough to be find easily. Stop whaling. Stop torture for nonsense.

I appalled by whaling in any country. I cant believe that we continue to rape the natural world despite everything we know. Will it not stop until there is nothing left to kill or take.

Does Japan think the rest of the world is filled with fools? The international community is speaking loud and clear - we want whaling stopped. The thuggish actions of this wee continent's government will smear their reputation for generations to come.

Just because people used to hunt whales for their oil,or for food, does not mean they need to continue that pattern. There are other alternatives available; why slaughter an innocent species, which does no harm (how many deaths per year are reported due to 'whale attacks'? Whales help maintain the food chain in the ocean; too many people don't think about the long term consequences of their immediate action.

I am boycotting items which have come from whaling in other countries as well as in my own, because it seems that the easiest way - maybe the only way - to get some people to change a certain behavior is to hit them where it hurts - in their pocket.

It is a great lie that Japan is doing research in the south seas ...why would anyone have to kill so many whales on a yearly basis for research purposes ? Maybe they are doing sushi research ... I think it is a shame and Japan should be sanctioned by the developed countries.

No, not right now

The killing and harming of whales and dolphins is despicable behavior, and completely inhumane. These nonsensical actions need to be stopped and violators be held accountible for their actions.

I am boycotting any and ALL products that promote/utilize/do not support the banning of killing/harming whales and dolphins.

What does it take to stop this carnage. They have demonstrated their inteligence in ways we can't, why do we expect them to talk in order to stop the heartless killing. Shame on us as a species that would allow such practices to continue when we know in our hearts that at some future date the fullness of their intellect will be understood if not conversed in a way our premitive brain will finally understand. Please act in this cause, make a difference, be proud to do so and don't stop with a simple message do something for the cause!

I boycot any products, companies, and countries that have any involvement in this practice. I am a label reader doing his part but the money I spend elsewhere is making a slight dent in the country's economy and the larger we become, the larger the dent will grow.

I hate whaling. It is a cruel and terrible act and should be stopped. Why continue whaling? Because they are cruel, mean people who have nothing better to do in their time. I have not seen the killings first hand but I have seen the sad photos. You should stop killing now! If you can't save the whales, then what is going to happen to mankind? Not being able to save the whales just proves that we won't be able to save anything else. SAVE THE WHALES, SAVE THE EARTH!

Since learning more about whaling and the fine details, whenever I buy products, I make sure that there is nothing to do with whales in it. I find it gross and cruel.

It's time for all this to stop. It's time for us to be good stewards of the oceans because the health of the oceans is critical to the health of all life on the planet. No more collaborating with the devil and giving the Japanese a pass on whaling and dolphin killing. Let's make it stop by cutting off all the money, in all forms from all sources, to Japan. If they want to do this, it must cost them dearly. If they want to participate in the global economy, it's time for them to stop stabbing us all in the back.

We must stop rewarding the criminals who are looting the oceans of the life that we must have to keep the oceans healthy for all of us.
