Unless a stand is made en masse the killing will continue.
We have unknown populations of protected animals migrating accross oceans and they are being indescriminately killed so that a wealthy few and their pets can eat an exotic meat.
It has to end, and we are here to make that happen as soon as possible.

I feel the killing of large-brain mammals is a deeply immoral act, and the mass murder of such animals is unspeakably reprehensible. it is a profound mistake for the human community to turn a blind eye to the mass murder of creatures like ourselves, large brained mammals. I know others have different reasons for signing the petition, but their intelligence and thus essential similarity to us is mine. Allowing acts of cruelty to be perpetrated against creatures like ourselves will ultimately condemn us in the eyes of the future. Just as we look back with shame on classical Greece and wonder how a culture that championed democracy could also embrace slavery, or how an enlightened mind like Aristotle's could actually offer rhetorical arguments in its defense, and in the defense of the presumed inferiority of women (arguments to which Plato, one of the clearest thinkers of his time, agreed), or as we look back with utter revulsion on the enslavement of black people for over a century by white Europeans, and consider with a shudder the civilized arguments offered in its defense, I believe that, should we somehow survive the many serious threats to our planet and our species, people of the future will regard our bloodthirsty refusal to acknowledge the rights of whales with a similar uncomprehending horror and and irrefutable evidence of our fundamental bestiality. I don't think petitions will have any effect, really--though I'd be happy to be proven wrong; but I want to go on record in firm moral opposition to the slaughter of intelligent creatures.
