We Appreciate and Thank You in Advance for your Support!
We are asking for lienency and freedom for Urlin Clark.
We are seeking a new direction right now in America for the ongoing incarceration of young men, who through mistakes or circumstances beyond their control has placed them in an unfair disadvantage and self incrimination. The wrong being done is by the professionals within the legal system (criminal justice), through entrapment, deceit, misconduct, and miscarriage of justice, using their positions for political gain and discrimination towards minorities and others, who by no fault of their own, do not have the financial ability to pay for justice.
Individuals caught up within the system on violent accusations, which carry the maximum time, of ones life, no voting, unfair sentencing guidelines for those particular crimes, oftentimes these crimes are by the subject matter (Race). They are catgorized and laws made accordingly to keep them in legalized slavery. Inhumane conditions at the prisons. No chance for rehabilitation. Broken Spirits. Contributing to the crimes within the prison system. It's very sad. We have turned full circle, backwards in the fight for human rights and humane treatment, also civil rights. What's Left? Greed, Selfishness, Cold Hearts, Misunderstanding, No Love. But I have not given up, but learned valuable lessons. It has made my son and I much stronger and wiser in our preparation for Life and trusting in God. Evil must not prevail forever.
I made the quote recently, looking back, (which is important, since History does repeat itself. Where else does it have to go?) "This reminds me of the Fall of the Roman Empire. Everything was admissable, Everything. People do have the right to do and live as they please, but will always be accountable.
We tried to live as Americans should. Stay out of trouble, follow the Laws and trust the system to work for you. When the system is corrupt, it will not work for you. I pray that I am wrong. I do believe that there is more good than bad. People get caught up and make wrong decisions. I think we have all experienced that. No one in Life is perfect. We all make mistakes. But there is such a thing as forgiveness. I have had to pray even for the prosecutor, whom I believe to be misguided. It does no good to throw daggers. Just try to correct a wrong.
We see the ongoing problem of another statistic in America. Urlin's 5 year old son cries out to see and be with his Dad.
The Prisons are bulging at the seams. Obviously, it is not working! "No Way Out". I don't have the answers for all of this. I just want to try and make a difference and help to bring about some changes and save my son. He does not deserve the wrong that has been done to him. He was held in jail for 3 years before going to trial, through misconduct, creative means to block bail, overworked public defenders, where cases are decided and deals are made through plea bargaining. I have fought this battle, almost totally alone and through Faith. I have probably been to every major Attorney in Las Vegas, pleading, asking for help, without the tremendous amount (fees) that were asked. Tirelessly, I have kept going. My Kids are my Life. They are very important to me. As parents, we have all made wrong decisions regarding our kids and their upbringing. But we can only try to do better and keep on keeping on. Circumstances and environment has always paved the way for mistakes made by many human beings in Life. Consensual crimes between individuals and their misconduct, everyone loses. So like so many other families, there are no funds available for families like ours to cope with the laws for bail and attorneys, etc.
I must ask you to bear with me a little longer. I am a grassroots person and I am talking from experience and from my heart. I am asking families to join with me (JUST US THE STRUGGLE). We can come together to fight our own battles the right way, through organization and self help. I wrote this program in 1998. I have been caught up in the fight for human rights over 30 plus years. I have been a volunteer throughout my Life and have marched for the common cause of justice and human rights.
There has to be a better way to restore order and dignity, loyalty, honesty of individuals who make mistakes as does the legal profession. I love the message of Jesus Christ ("How many times should one forgive, 494 times 7 and then indefinitely").
But due to the overwhelming violence within communities among young people, usually all are catagorized as being bad and get a bum rap, by older people, who forgot that they were once young and not perfect. The judging parties oftentimes have tunnel vision and categorize these individuals the same. Without knowing ones background and history, when judging, the judgement usually is made through tunnel vision. But the jurors are only human too. The assumption becomes the overall outcome for judgment.
If you want someone to hear and listen to you, oftentimes it will not make a difference, because who are you?. The following paragraphs are made by people in history who made a difference and their voices have been heard.
"The privillege against self-incrimination is one of the great landmarks in Man's struggle to make himself civilized, the Fifth is a lone sure rock in time of storm...a symbol of the ultimate moral sense of the community, upholding the best in us." (Erwin Griswold) former Dean of Harvard Law School. (It's sad that - that is what seems this is in the scenario of Urlin Clark).
The Bill of Rights - is designed to protect individuals and minorities against the tyranny of the majority, but it's also designed to protect the people against bureaucracy against the government." (Judge Lawrence Tribe)
Consensual crimes - no one seems to be right and no one totally right" - poor choices, on both sides."
"Liberty is one thing you can't have unless you are willing to give it to others." (William Allen White)
"Truth resides in every human heart, and one has to search for it there, and to be guided by truth as one sees it. But no one has a right to coerce others to act accordingly to his own view of truth". (Mohandas K. Gandhi).
"One man can completely change the character of a country, and the industry of its people, by dropping a single seed in fertile soil." (John C. Gifford).
Can we start here? We need healing in this country from the system as it is now. Change is always hard. Decisions are harder. (Linda Mullins)
"There is no worse lie than a truth misunderstood by those who hear it." (William James - The Varieties of Religious Experience 1910).
Urlin Clark got stuck in this category. (Try going through an interrogation by trained professionals who lie and entrap). Truth, this actually happened and the detective in the end had to tell the truth.
"Get your facts first, and then you can distort them as much as you please." (Mark Twain)
These are remarks of people of respect and notability in this country. It is important to speak on these things in such a way, because today the common individual or person is not respected of what he/she has to say. And who really cares! We are asking that you help us make a difference. If we can take a stand to get back the true honesty and respect for one another, as what the pioneers once had. Your word was all you needed.
We humbly respect the Law and believe in Right, but we also know that it's not perfect.
