Sponsored by:
Grand Ole Opry Star & Country Music Legend, Jack Greene

Jack Greene has been overlooked too long! Help us get enough signatures to get Jack Greene nominated and inducted into the Country Music Hall of Fame!

Jack had nine #1 hits while recording for Decca Records and MCA Records. These included "There Goes My Everything," "What Locks The Door," "You Are My Treasure," "Until My Dreams Come True," "Back In The Arms Of Love," "Love Takes Care of Me," "Lord, Is That Me?" and "Statue Of A Fool." Jack has had two #1 albums; one stayed at the top of the charts for a year. Today he continues making music for his many fans.

The pinnacle of his success came during the 1967 CMA awards, where he swept every major prize including Single of the Year, Album of the Year, Male Vocalist of the Year, and Song of the Year for "There Goes My Everything." The enduring popularity of that song is reflected in the fact that it has been recorded no less than 111 times, in 14 languages. Due to Jack's immense popularity, he was later inducted as a member of the Grand Ole Opry and to this day, remains a regular on the weekly Saturday night programs that have become a tradition for country music lovers everywhere.

Jack Greene should be in the CMHF for reasons beyond his phenomenal work product. He both maintained the integrity of "Traditional" country and at the same time was "related to" by those determined to make country music less "honky-tonk". Thus, he was popular with several generations of music lovers.

Jack was an inspiration to many country singers and should be recognized for his life-long commitment to keeping country music alive. There aren't many songs that equal the intensity and feeling in his renditions of "Statue of a Fool" and "There Goes My Everything".

Mr. Green put his time in when alot of stars of the Grand Ole Opry were coming thru the ranks. He's one of the ones that helped make it happen back then. He's had some very memorable songs that are still favorites today.

We saw Jack Greene last night at the Grand Ole Opry @ the Ryman. I did not realize until I read this, that he is "NOT" a member of the Country Music Hall of Fame. He is one of the few " Country Greats " that are left and is long overdue to become a member of the Hall of Fame.

Jack Greene represented country music in the finest way with a voice that was far and above better than the average country singer. He was a class act and compared to the cardboard cigar indians of today he stands out as a guy who was out there doing it. Lord knows every kid who wanted to be a country singer would have killed for that voice.

Bought my first Jack Greene LP in the early 70s and I still listen to his records nearly every day. My all-time favourite is Statue of a Fool but Jack has never sung a bad song. He should have been in the Hall of Fame years ago.
