Help save the healhty and treatable dogs and cats in Brevard's shelters by saying

Support Brevard County Animal Shelters Go No-Kill

Target:
Brevard County Commisioner
Brevard County in Florida has an extremely high pet over- population and equally high kill rates.  In Brevard over 10,000 animals are being euthanized annually . We plan on scheduling a meeting with the commissioner about wanting ALL shelters in Brevard to go No-Kill.  No-kill has been done and can be done.  Let's do what is right for the animals who deserve the quality care and life they deserve. There is no excuse for putting animals down. Let's tell our county that we are fed up with the inexcusable killing of healthy and adoptable pets!

Shelter Cat

We need as much of the community to help us. There is power in numbers and we can achieve this goal if we all work together! Every single person counts and is extremely important, 1 signature is 1 step closer to achieving a fighting chance for these animals.  Please pass this on to everyone and anyone you know that cares what happens to these animals, think of the lives you'll help! We plan on bringing this petition with us when we go to the meeting to show the community's support.

Just between the South and the North Animal Care and Adoption Centers in 1/1/06-12/31/06  a total of 15,821 cats and dogs were brought to the shelter. Out of the 15,821 cats and dogs, 10,013 were euthanized making it 63% destroyed!   This is just in 2006 and 2007 is even higher (statistics not available yet).

We the undersigned are hear to say that we are tired of seeing perfectly healthy and adoptable pets being put down.  We are better than the killing of innocent animals.  This reflects our community, No-Kill is best for the animals and best for the community. Thousands of animals are being put down each year and is ridiculous. We can not stand by any longer while this injustice occurs. We want ALL Brevard county shelters to turn No-Kill. This has and can be done.  We want these animals the have a full and happy life they deserve.  The animals are in our hands lets take the step in the humane and compassionate direction.  Let's look forward to a better tommorow.  Thank you for reading and I hope you do the right thing you know is in your hearts to do.

Lord, have mercy. Especially if this animals have been loved and nurtured and are socialized to people. First and last, nature, nurture, and let's get real. What is becoming of our planet? Seems like now there are even more serial human killers. Coincidence, or conditioning?

Why kill animals? They don't do anything mean to you all they do is just look at you with their cute, little faces. They mean no harm to us what so ever. So save the animals they are are smart, loyal and will help us out a lot in the long run.

Killing animals is not the answer!! No-kill shelters definitely exist and WORK. Animals deserve to live a happy life, not have theirs ended because no one wanted them. ADOPT!!

I know there's a way through education and advertising to make Brevard County show the rest of the country that no-kill is the way to go!

Although I realize the amount of animals left at the shelter is staggering this does not give us the right to put them down except for extreme measures. There are many shelters across the country that to not kill animals. If you need to find out how this can be done please contact the American Humane Society.

Signing this petition will help support Brevard County Animal Shelters go No-Kill. I have a pitbull myself and most animal shelters put them down and don't give them a chance. So I am signing this petition to show my support!

I am deeply disturbed that so many people feel pets are disposable. Not only should we make "ALL" animal shelters NO-KILL, we also need to provide education to the public on responsible pet ownership. Thank you.

I care, we need to find homes for all that are available for adoption. Give a chance to healthy pets to find homes!
