North Carolina's declaration of sovereignty

We, the people, of the great state of North Carolina must let our state leaders know that we are angry in the direction our country is going. Our deficit is astronomical and most of our debt is to other countries. Now the Obama administration is forcing states to take a chunk of this stimulus package even though most did not want it. In the first five weeks of his presidency, Barack Obama has acted so rashly that at least 11 states have decided that his brand of HOPE equates to an intolerable expansion of the federal government authority over the states. These states -- "Washington, New Hampshire, Arizona, Montana, Michigan, Missouri, Oklahoma, [Minnesota]...Georgia," South Carolina, and Texas -- "have all introduced bills and resolutions" reminding Obama that the 10th Amendment protects the rights of the states, which are the rights of the people, by limting the power of the federal government. These resolutions call on Obama to cease and desist from his reckless government expansion and also indicate that federal laws and regulations implemented in violation of the 10th Amendment can be nullified by the states. We must stop the federal government from taking control over our state and from attacking our constitutional right to keep and bear arms and to stop the federal government from side stepping the 2nd amendment and place a astronomical tax on ammunition and other firearm accessories. They feel that if they cannot beat the 2nd amendment, they will make it extremely hard to exercise our right to have firearms by taxing everything else related to firearms. Please sign this petition as once we reach 1000 signatures, it will be printed and mailed via USPS directly to our state capital and lawmakers
We, the undersigned, demand that The North Carolina General Assembly pass a resolution claiming North Carolina's sovereignty In Accordance to the Tenth Amendment of the US Constitution and Article I, Section 2, 35, and 36 of the State of North Carolina's Constitution during the calendar year 2009.
