No Way, No How, NO Sarah Palin!

Target:
John McCain
Sponsored by:

John McCain's choice of Sarah Palin shows how little he knows about women. In an attempt to woo the women vote, his selection shows how out of  touch his platform and candidacy is with the issues that matter to women in  this election.

Sarah Palin is anti-choice. Just like McCain, she opposes a  woman's right to choose. Sarah Palin has also stated her opposition to abortion even in cases of rape or incest.

Sarah Palin is a creationist.  U.S. teenagers are trailing behind their peers from many industrialized countries in math and science. To truly compete in a global economy, we need leadership that will improve the quality  of U.S. education. Yet Sarah Palin has supported creationism, believing it should be taught alongside evolution in the state's public classrooms.

Sarah Palin opposes gay-marriage. Sarah Palin took office less than two years  ago in Alaska, and by then the state was one of the first in the U.S. to  pass a constitutional ban on gay marriage. But Sarah Palin has stated that she  supported the 1998 constitutional amendment.

Sarah Palin is pro-drilling. Even though John McCain has opposed opening  the Arctic National Wildlife Refuge to drilling in the past, his choice of  Sarah Palin as VP shows how untrustworthy he is on protecting ANWR in the  future. Sarah Palin has implored McCain to change his position against  drilling in the Arctic, repeatedly pushing policies that benefit Big Oil and  could make us even more dependent on foreign oil.

Sarah Palin is anti-environment. She's responsible for approving a $400,000  state-funded propaganda campaign to justify Alaska's barbaric wolf slaughter  from the skies, and sued the federal government over the addition of polar  bears to the Endangered Species list, arguing the designation would slow gas  and oil development in the state.

Sarah Palin is embroiled in scandal. She's currently under ethics investigation  for abuse of power in Alaska: in late July, Alaska's state legislature  voted to hire an independent investigator to find out whether she tried to have  a state official fire her ex-brother-in-law from his job as a state trooper.  She has also refused  to call for the resignation of Alaska Senator Ted Stevens despite his  indictment for allegedly hiding gifts received from an oil firm.

We've already had 8 years of an Administration and VP office that doesn't get it. Sounds like more of the same broken politics we've seen in the last eight  years.

Palin is McCain's revenge against Obama for not agreeing to have town hall meetings together that McCain wanted. So are his rancorous ads against Obama. When asked if he was going to continue with his rancorous ads against Obama, with visible anger McCain said, "Well, it wouldn't be like this if he (Obama) had agreed to the town hall meetings that I wanted." As for Sarah Palin, her unacceptable policies are thus: Anti-science- -pro-creationism; anti-stem-cell research; anti-abortion of a fetux- -pro-murder on the killing fields of Iraq; anti-gay marriage; anti-alternative energy; anti-environment; anti-hate law legislation; anti-equal pay for equal work; anti-tolerance. I have to add anti-intelligence- -pro censorship; pro-war via pro-religious Armageddon. Who wants them dictating to us. We have good minds and capable of making our own decisions. Make no mistake this really is change. A Change For The Worse! Palin is Bush with lip stick. How damned juvenile can ya get?

Ms. Palin is not only an affront to every value real feminists cherish, an insult to the many women who fought before her so that she could have the opportunity to occupy the office she now holds, and a terror to those who understand and support the Constitution and the Bill of Rights, she is also very simply not prepared and probably does not possess the ability to assume the office of Vice President of the United States of America. She is apparently too stupid to know she wasn't chosen for her abilities, or she's so ambitious that she doesn't care; either way that is very sad.

Sarah Palin has a profound lack of experience, a smug, pit bull attitude and extreme right-wing views. Palin does not believe in a woman's right to choose, even if the woman has been raped. She supports "abstinance-only" sex education (even though it didn't work out so well for her own 17-year-old daughter). She believes creationism should be taught in public schools. She does not believe in global warming. She has called the war in Iraq a "task of God." She will not listen to information that contradicts her own beliefs. She is George W. Bush in a skirt.

Sarah Palin is inexperienced and appears to make rash decisions. She is against any form of gun control in a nation where homicide by firearms reaches world record proportions. She is in bed with big business and does not relate to ordinary middle class problems (despite her folksy talk, she is not your average middle class person). The possibility of her being President of the most powerful country on earth is scary.

Sarah Palin is far right-wing conservative, very extreme, as well as mean and nasty (equating herself with a pitbull!). My husband and I both feel that she would be a disaster as president or VP. She scares me and I really dislike her. I think her 'hockey-mom' thing does nothing to qualify her to be elected and I don't have the impression that she is very smart. She is, however blatantly dishonest and very abitious for personal power at any cost. I have no respect for her. Listen to Hillary!

There are so many more women and men who are more qualified to run for vp. She has so many unclear motivations and past situations that remain unsettled. No foriegn policy experience, the inability to speak for herself to the press in an unscripted situation. The fact that she used religion to promote political gain and acquisition. What mother of a special needs child can leave for the second most difficult and consuming job in the nation before she even knows what his therapies will be. Who will teach her the ASL signs and work with him on his occupational therapy plans. What about all those nights he gets up to take off his diaper and goes to empty the fridge and Sara Palin gets no sleep because she has to keep him in bed all night with a diaper taped on with duct tape. These are real issues that I have watched my family deal with caring for a high functioning downs child. My uncle is a high school teacher and my aunt is a early ed first 5 teacher and they work their butts off taking care of my cousin. He is in 4th grade now and they are exhausted. It is not going to end, the tasks get more difficult. Where are her priorities. This is not just a woman's equality situation, in these cases, it should be what is best to fulfill the needs of this special needs child. If you agree to continue the pregnancy and raise the child, you commit to be that child's advocate and the if a part time working mother of 4 in San Diego can't do it all, though she tries and does a damn fine job of it, how could a vice president of the USA do it. She just couldn't. Not by herself. Dad can't by himself either. They should call Hillary and ask for her book. After all, "It Takes A Village".

I am pro choice. I am for renewable energy. I am for separation of state & religion. I am for freedom of speech. Sarah Palin represents the complete opposite of what would be good for working class families as well as international relations. The gap between her views - as well as the views of the administration that signed her on ( " more of the same " ) could not be wider. Quite frankly I am scared of what she will do & they will do in office. Families across the nation as well as global relations are at stake. Therefore, I am speaking out as an American. Though the voting process may end up being rigged AGAIN I must let it be known - We do not back these candidates for the issues. ( Those & those I know ). In hope that somewhere, some one will pay attention & so I am letting it be known, that even though I am a woman I want no part of what she has to offer . I cannot be fooled so easily. Just because she is a woman doesn't mean she is going to win my vote. I sincerely believe that the Obama Biden team will further the woman's movement or at least the things that matter to the majority of woman more than Palin could even begin to. So, I am a woman against Palin. 100 % !

Sara Palin is the wrong choice but then so is McCain. We need someone who can bring this country together and work the problems we all face. We don’t need more self serving corruption like we have had for the last 8 years. Of all the things that are wrong with choosing Sara Palin for the VP running mate, just knowing that they both are using the same advisors that Bush used says it all. That’s more than not being a maverick ...that’s just being stupid! No Way, No How, No Sara Palin!!!!!

Just because your a hockey mom doesn't mean that you should be running our government, this isn't some kinda of Disney movie this a real country! We NEED someone who can change our government and make America a better place. Sarah Palin will not be able to live up to that since she has no experience doing anything even being a good mother.

Others have said it and I concur - The thought of Ms. Palin as VP makes me sick and makes me think of the mean middle school girls. She TRIES to divide us - to hate people who aren't like her. Why is it a virtue to neglect her family? (McCain does, too, and I hate that, too -- I think all parents should PARENT.) Why is it a virtue that she went to 5 or 6 colleges to get her first college degree? I want someone who is ABOVE average to lead our country. She doesn't speak for me or most women and men.

As a teacher and a woman, I am appalled by this woman's beliefs. She is against birth control, even in cases of married couples. This is an issue women fought hard for in the early 1900's and with this issue and many other female issues, she appears to want to turn back the clock to the 1800's, a scary thought. I also fear Roe vs Wade will be overturned if she gets into office, something that as a woman, I believe we should be able to have that choice for our own bodies. Not to mention with regards to her belief in teaching creationism only in PUBLIC SCHOOLS and book banning is equally appalling. Our country is based on freedoms, not limitations and certainly our public schools should have a separation of church and state. If you don't want your child reading certain texts, that is your own choice as a parent (although I believe limitations on children will ultimately backfire on them later on in their lives) and something Palin should not force upon the rest of us. If we want a country not based on freedoms anymore, but based on what the overly wealthy McCain and the overly religious Palin want for us, then I suggest we no longer call it america, land of the free, but rather, land for the rich, select few, that doesn't include feminist women, but only submissive religious women along with their dominating husbands.

Sarah Palin is an ignorant, uneducated woman with little experience of the world outside of her insular, self-righteous community. The idea of Palin running this great country is not one to be dignified with another moment of my time spent writing about what an undignified choice Mc Cain made for a running mate. I have lost any respect I ever had for him. I believe that those people who are under her spell will soon come to their senses and that the majority of voters in this country will come to see what I see. Mc Cain and Palin will be defeated on November 4th.

She is as real as their campaign is truthful! She sold out to the gun totin', oil drillin', war mongerin', evangelical 'anti-christians' long before she entered politics and thats why she is their golden girl. She's being what conservative men wants her to be. Thats all we need, an old man waitin' to keel over with a crazy woman waitin' to step in his shoes and throw this country back to the stone age.

Sarah Palin is the wrong choice for VP! I would never look up to a woman like her- she believes in the hunting and killing of innocent animals (even wolves by helicopters!), doesn't believe a woman should have the choice to decide to have an abortion (even if she is raped!), and doesn't believe sex education should occur in high schools (and obviously cannot teach her OWN DAUGHTER to practice abstinance or at least safe sex!). She is a HORRIBLE choice and is a disgrace to american women!

It's understandable that any Democrat would oppose McCain's choice of Palin, who is clearly not qualified and whose values are highly questionable. However, it's the Republican women who should be OUTRAGED. His selection was clearly a political maneuver of the worst kind, passing over qualified females in his party and in the process put our country at total risk by such a move. Does anyone really believe she could step in and be President in January if she had to? Obama was asked what was his first consideration of a VP: "ability to step in as President." The Palin decision boggles the mind and runs chills up the spine that McCain is willing to risk our entire country's welfare in a desperate attempt to win the White House.

Sarah Palin is an insult to intelligent and enlightened women. She is the comnplete antithesis of the intelligent, accomplished and articulate stateswoman, Hillary Clinton and we all should feel insulted that McCain thought Palin would sway our votes!. I believe Palin is totally self serving. She has been proven to 'hunt with the hounds and run with the hares' changing her position to make herself look good. She is narrow minded and inexperienced in addition to being power hungry. She stands for that is shallow and vain in life. Her lack of real world experience is alarming given her proximity to the Presidency, if elected. Americans should be appalled that Ms Palin had to be secreted away after the nomination to be 'prepped' for public appearances. This woman is a hypocrite! America is being had! They may try to sweep Troopergate under the carpet until after the election but by then so much more will have emerged. No Way, No How, No Palin!!!!

Sarah Palin is everything this country doesn't need - all "me" and no "we". Her utter lack of substantive knowledge about policies that would benefit this country is astounding- what she doesn't know could fill a barn. She is a careless and dangerous choice for all Americans, especially women.

a play on words of a poem of Elizabeth Barrett Browning--sarah palin, how do I not love thee, let me count the ways: 1)anti-choice (i refuse to use the term pro-life, as those of us who are pro-choice are also pro-life!), 2)anti-animal rights and protection, 3) anti-gay rights, 4)anti-environment, 5) anti-gun control, 6) anti-comprehensive sex education 7)lack of foreign policy experience (but apparently good eyeglasses, because she can see Russia from her home), 8)unable to speak truthfully about the bridge to nowhere, earmarks, troopergate, etc. and my final thought stealing an exact quote from sarah palin--Thanks but NO THANKS!!

I oppose Sarah Palin because I have observed that Ms. Palin does not have the knowledge base (such as understanding of the Bush Doctrine) necessary to function as one of the highest offices in our country. She may have been an administrator of a states, but that states has less people then the San Fransisco Bay Area, so that is no great shakes in my book.

I am against the idea of having another Bush Administration. She is ignorant in foreign affairs, ignorant in general common knowledge AND who is also shady and corrupt and abuses her powers. She is pro gun and pro life. I don't think her views are in the same frequency as the rest of society. McCain has proven how irresponsible he is by choosing a woman in a lame attempt to woo Hillary's supporters---I am offended by this. Palin is no Hillary. Please!

Why would any woman in her right mind vote for a woman like her. I am not saying that abortinon is right, but I feel that it is a womans right to choose. Also shame on McCain for thinking that by having a woman vp he would pick up the Hillary votes. I think that women should feel insulted.

Sarah Palin is not qualified whatsoever to step in and run the country if McCain became incapacitated. She stands for the same things Bush stands for, but is even less intelligent. Sarah Palin is a frightening option. My greatest fear is that McCain's age will catch up to him in some way. It does not matter that he is healthy now. The job of president is a stressful job. SHE IS NOT equipt to take his position. The United States would begin a downward spiral that will lead to our economy failing, loss of military integrity, aanother social revolution would take place in protest.

I'm a married, Catholic mother of one son. I'm a registered Democrat. I have a lot of respect for Senator McCain and his ability to work with both parties. I agree with him on some issues and think he would be a great leader. However, I'm deeply troubled by the choice of Governor Palin for vice-president. I don't want Roe v. Wade to be overturned. Although I think it's a very difficult, very private decision, I don't want abortion to be illegal in this country. Women (and girls) in desperate situations will be put in harms way to end their pregnancies. Additionally, I don't think creationism should be taught in schools. I think religious views are up to parents and churches to teach. Schools should teach the theories that are the most scientifically supported. I also feel very strongly that we need to protect our environment and coasts and do not want to pursue additional drilling. Instead, we should actively pursue alternative energies. With the crime in our cities, I also feel strongly that we should have limits on gun ownership and sales. Lastly, I resent the dishonesty about Governor Palin's earmarking and her inability to work with people who disagree with her.

Where do I start... As an Alaskan woman I feel I can certainly say that Alaska has not benefitted from Sarah Palin. We rank 48th in the Union in providing health care coverage for children (disabled or otherwise) and SP has refused to sign even the barest of provisions for children that our legistlators draft. She is not so far apart from the 'Good 'Ol Boys Club' she likes to talk about. She has accepted millions in earmarked spending and has ruined a small town (Wasilla) by promoting irresponsible growth marked by a lack of zoning and city planning. She is completely negligent in her unwillingness to acknowlege a deficit of experience in foreign policy. She does not seem to grasp the gravity of being at war- in two countries!- with a deplorable global net of support. She sounds an awful lot like Bush- back when Bush had his head shoved even further up his asss.
