Take back Chris Brown's award-- take a stand against women's violence

By honoring Chris Brown you are telling young girls and boys that it is okay to beat women, not only that, you honor such people.
This behavior is not okay for our society any longer and we stand united to ask the Grammy's to take back the award given to Chris Brown. Bestowing such an honor suggests that it is okay to beat women and your romantic partners.
We stand together in saying that violence against women is never okay and honoring those who conduct such violence, with a Grammy award and television broadcast at the very least, suggests a lack of integrity.
As media-makers you are in a position of power in society to change behaviors and promote the good in society. WE stand united in asking you to take back Chris Brown's award and make a public statement to support women's rights in the future.
Your recent award given to Chris Brown sends the wrong message to our nation about violence against women. He should not be honored and exalted when there are hundreds of more talented artists who do not publicly hit their women.
Just because 30% of Americans stated that they know someone who abuses women does not mean we should honor one of their leaders. You are in the position to help women and girls have a different future, one step towards this would be to take back Chris Brown's recent grammy.
