7000 year old Indian Burial Site being destroyed!

7000 year old Indian Burial Site being destroyed!

Target:
Help stop development on sacred land. Preserve our history and yours!
An ancient Gabrielino-Tongva Native American Burial Ground was recently unearthed in Huntington Beach, Ca. It is estimated to be around 7000 - 9000 years old. Brightwater/Hearthside homes attempted to cover the fact that they hit ancient human remains and artifacts while building homes in Huntington Beach. In doing, so they have desecrated at least 178 graves!
Help us to stop the any further construction of this premises. The Gabrielino-Tongva tribes of Southern California are the second most recognized tribe in the state of California, yet have been unable to secure any land rights or benefits to their people. Their voices have been stifled once more in regards to protecting their ancient burial.
These findings should be researched and removed with grace and dignity by professional archeologists and either preserved or re-located according to the wishes of the Gabrielino-Tongva people!
Please sign our petition! Protests will be held every wednesday in Huntington Beach on the corner of Bolsa Chica and Warner Ave  from 5 to 6pm until efforts are made to stop this unfortunate violation of historical and human rights!
For more info please e-mail hbsacredsite@yahoo.com and someone will return your message as promptly as possible, Thank you!

WHAT AN OUTRAGE! WHAT A DISGRACE! WHAT A HORRIFIC THOUGHT, BUT IT'S REALITY SO PLEASE STOP NOW!! You have desecrated at least 178 graves of Gabrielino-Tongva people HOW DARE YOU! The second most recognized tribe in the state of California, yet have no land rights or benefits for their people

How would you like someone building homes on your grave? STOP STOP STOP!! It is actions like this that are tearing apart the country... The development on the Bolsa Chica reservation will be a travesty to the heritage of your state. These actions will rob Native Americans of their history by building over their land and graves.

How does Native American history affect all of American history?

What will you tell your children about how this country was really founded? Wouldn't you like to tell your children about how you helped preserve the history and rights of the Native American peoples?

Native Americans were the first human inhabitants here in the USA and have been treated shamelessly by white peoples all throughout the history of this nation.

The truth...lies, greed, mistreatment of other human beings and nature!

There's been many people types of this country whine and complain about the way they are/were treated, when in reality, the Indians are the one's who have suffered. And now this, to destroy a burial ground by, once again, THE RICH AND GREEDY!!!

This is an outrage. I cannot believe my eyes and ears that we are fighting over issues like this. There should be NO reason why they cannot build somewhere else. All for homes...they will trample over our ancestors like they were DIRT underneath there feet...we as a nation of natives need to put an end to this atrosity!! Why not go dig your parents, grandparents, whomever up...and see what it makes you feel inside...ya...that's what I thought!

You know..you never hear about anyone else burials being discraced like us...why is that so ~ all for the sake of Science?? Great...were lab rats...what next?

Why would anyone even think to destroy any area that holds such history? There is no reason to do so. I mean NO reason good enough. Leave that burial site alone! Leave it be! Let them rest in peace always.

for generations us native americans have endured injustice, treaties the upmost law of the land aren't honord by the us government.. so for some rich wealthy developer to come along and put up plastic houses on our paradise (who has no culture or respect for mother earth) isn't new. look around us here in southern california, commercialized and forgetten, until someone hands itch and they make there way to win big in the casino on the reservations that we were forced onto. its a sad sad state of affairs when all it takes it heart to do the right thing and *IF YOU MUST* build elsewhere.. what would happen if a national momument or cemetary was disgraced? federal charges i bet... but for us to stand up for what we know is right in our hearts and come together and TRY to make a differance would give hope to the future, cause when the earth shakes one more time better off our ancestors are honored then some fruity tootry millionare and his desperate housewife a.k.a. barbie get (another) new home by ocean, in the luiseno's, chumash, and all other coastal tribes sacred land...

It reminds us continually the sacrifices made through many generations.

Already have, Three of our grandchildren are Blackfeet. The oldest granddaughter works very hard on keeping her heritage alive even though she is only 14.

The development on the Bolsa Chica reservation will be a travesty to the heritage of our state. These actions will rob Native Americans of their history by building over their land and graves. These actions are nothing but a legal, non-violent way of committing genocide against a nation that has already suffered at the hands of powerful, who care more about profit than a people right to rest in peace.

Please I urge these immoral and oppressive actions be suspended. Development of Bolsa Chica is a an unjust action. Brightwater and Heartside homes willing concealed the existence of a burial ground knowing their actions were illegal and unethical, why else would they do what they did. These people who are in charge of the Bolsa Chica "development" knew they were wrong. None of these people would want the graves of their mothers, father, or any other of their ancestors to have a structure built on top of them so why should Bolsa Chicans be treated any less fairly. I urge these immoral actions to be ceased and a formal apology to the Native Americans.

The Native American have been subjected to more abuse, decimation by disease brought by the Pilgrims, terror, loss of rights, land and their sense of being to the Europeans who came and now own thru thievery and lies far longer than any other group of cohorts now in the U.S. WHY? I dunno, maybe because we were "dirty, stinking, injuns, red skins, who fought to the death for their lands and their religion. Only then to be subjected to the "Trail of Tears". Yes, I am part Native American.

The truth about who all of their ancestors were. THE TRUTH
