TO HELP US GAIN APPROVAL FOR THE RELEASE OF THE $7.5
MILLION IN CAPITAL FUNDING FOR THE COMPLETION OF THE FINAL
STAGES OF THE PENNSYLVANIA STATE POLICE HISTORICAL,
 EDUCATIONAL, AND MEMORIAL  CENTER.
 __________________________________________________________

There has been $7.5 million in Capital Funding allocated in the Governors
Budget for the construction of Phases II and III of the Historical,
Educational, and Memorial Center since it was approved by the
Legislature in 2004. Phase II consists of the Rotunda, Chapel & Memorial
wing which will house the granite brick memorial wall. Phase III will
complete the Center and will consist of the remaining Historical and
Educational wings. Without this funding, completion of the Center - which
is to consist of three wings - is a distant reality.

To make the dream of building PSP-HEMC come true - all of us - as the
volunteering supporters of  PSP-HEMC have to build up a strong
demonstrable consensus together,,, with thousands of supporters
putting forward their united voice declaring the need to build the
Pennsylvania State Police Historical, Educational & Memorial Center.

Please help by signing our Online Petition and forward us your precious
 vote of support.

the larger facility which is critical in preserving, exhibiting, and
interpreting the noteworthy collection of artifacts and memorabilia of the
Pennsylvania State Police which the Historical, Educational, and Memorial
 Center has amassed.

We the undersigned respectfully request that the 7.5 million in Capital Funding be released to the Pennsylvania State Police-Historical, Educational & Memorial Center.

Releasing the funds will enable the completion of construction to the Rotunda, Chapel & Memorial wing which will house the granite brick
Memorial Wall, that will honor the many Pennsylvania State Troopers who lost their lives in the performance of their duty.

Releasing the funds will also allow for the completion of the Center's remaining Historical and Educational wings that will provide great
educational benefits to the thousands of citizens who visit.

However, without this funding, the completion of the Center's three wings is a distant reality.

So, please show your personal support, not only as an elected official, but as a concerned citizen of this great Commonwealth and help preserve the history of the Pennsylvania State Police..."Our Nation's First & Finest".

Thank you for taking the time to read our letter.

Sincerely,

Our Pennsylvania State Police officers are hard working public servants who do a dangerous job justly, fairly, and with honor. They put their lives on the line every day in the pursuit of justice and public safety, and they do that because they care about the people they are committed to serving. We can never say enough or do enough for these courageous officers.Release the funding .

Governor Rendell please pass the bill. As a hopeful State Trooper, and a great-nephew of a retired Trooper, it is only right that these funds be available to complete the project. We owe it to this state and all who served.

I think a historical and educational memorial center is long over due, and while times may be tough, we need to support the women and men who protect and serve us everyday.

Governor, as a prior appointee of yours to the position of Deputy Commissioner and a member of the Board of Directors of HEMC I personally know how much these funds mean to retired, current, and future members of our Department. These monies would enable us to begin the construction of a facility showcasing the pride, history, and tradition of the Department. But even more important in the finalization of this project would be to honor each of the men and women who gave the ultimate sacrifice of their lives in defense of the citizens of the Commonwealth. I implore you to reconsider your position and release these funds so that YOUR State Police will have a museum second to none in the nation which is the same place we hold with our peers as a police department in America, second to none! Thank you.

My father's family was and still is based all across Pennsylvania. He would have been 95 years old this year, and I sign this in his place, in memory of him and all the other family members who served as state and local officers for Pennsylvania. I understand the lack of funds at this time, but isn't there some way to complete this project? It wold give many young men and women the push towards a very rewarding career. Something that our youth could benefit from in a world of drugs, gangs, and all the rest of evil they face everyday. Governor Rendell I have enjoyed watching all the good you have shown us now I ask one some favor for my dad. Thank you sir..for your time.

I have items I would like to share, but want them to have a place to be preserved for others to view. I have a son who will soon retire after 25 yrs of service

My husband served with the State Police...he has passed away a year this month.......he was a dedicated officer and a dedicated husband and father. We are having a brick made in his honor for that new facility. It is important to me and his family.

In a time where we are bailing out car dealers who spend money on golden parachutes and private jets, it is a joke that this money cannot be released to fund a much needed memorial/historical site in which many men and women devoted their life and even gave their life to protect and serve others. Governor, do the right thing....release the funding.
