Paint CitiField's Walls Blue!

Paint CitiField's Walls Blue!

Target:
New York Mets Ownership
Sponsored by:
CitiField is the beautiful, state of the art new home to the New York Mets and their fans. Between roomy seats, better sight lines, delicious food options, and a Fan Fest area for the kids to enjoy, CitiField doesn't seem to be lacking anything... except for the color blue! This ballpark is the home to our beloved Mets, but you probably couldn't tell from the green seats and black walls. While Shea Stadium was an eyesore, looking down at the green grass enclosed by the blue walls which were accented by the orange foul poles, there was no mistaking what team called Shea home. Please sign this petition in hopes of Mets ownership putting the final touches on our amazin' new home... blue walls!

And to all Met fans who have actually been complaining about the new ballpark on sports radio the past couple days, stop whining.  I've been to the park and it's amazing, so stop making Met fans look like crybabies and be happy with our new home.

While we the undersigned love our new ballpark and look forward to being a part of creating memories there for years to come, CitiField looks and feels like a neutral field at this point.  Although we appreciate the nod to National League baseball's history and Ebbets Field, let's embrace our team that has provided us with 47 years worth of memories thusfar.  Painting the walls blue (a la Shea Stadium) would be a big step towards making it feel like our home, the true home of the New York Mets.  Thank you.

PS- If we could add another starting pitcher, that would be great.

Please paint the walls blue and add some Mets history that can be tied to Robinson's legacy to the video loops in the Rotunda.

With blue walls the stadium would instantly transform the indentity of the field with no doubt that the Mets play there...It looks so non-descript now. If there is to be advertising, make it blend into the wall al ittle kind of like they do on the green monster. Not sure how but there has to be a way.

I have been a life-long Met fan, and it is very depressing to watch Mets home games and thinking they are playing at Coors Field, or Chase Field, or Progressive Field because of those greenish walls at Citi Field. Please paint the walls blue.

What a great idea, and the stadium needs some "METS" colors inside

Im a yankee fan, but at the same time even i recognize it should be blue not black

Paint part of it blue. Then it'll be black n blue; like our bruised hearts when we look at advertising everywhere, not a met's logo anywhere and the worst fundamental/ disciplined team in MLB.

Blue walls at CitiField would be perfect!! This is what all the fans have wanted since CitiField opened. Something to let the opposing team know that they are playing the New York F'N Mets

The walls look like they belong at a Giants or Orioles game. The walls should be blue and 8 feet high in honor of the Mets and Shea Stadium. Home runs are the most exciting play in baseball- why exactly are we trying to make our park the hardest place for that to happen especially when we have a good amount of power hitters on our team?

There is nothing in the stadium that is mets colors besides the foul poles.

First I want to say I don't mind the tribute to the Dodgers but there is nothing about the Mets in this stadium. After the wall is painted blue maybe they can do some tributes to the 69 and 86 world series teams; and after that too the 73 and 2000 NL Champ teams. The Mets have some history of there own.

It's time for the Mets to embrace the past of a National League team that still plays in New York. The Mets have 47 years of history prior to Citi, 45 of which were played at Shea. The least they can do is give a little nod to their own past and their present color scheme with some blue walls. And hey Fred and Jeffie, that blue comes from the Dodgers. OMG! You like love them!

Wile your painting the walls blue like they should be, how about using the space of the left field wall to paint a tribute to endy's catch

It broke my heart to see Shea go (I dreaded going to the new stadium). But upon entering the rotunda, I was flawed-it really was beautiful. My excitement was short-lived, however. Walking through the stadium, it was difficult to determine just what team called this park home - there were no oversized posters of our heroes, no blue, no orange-just GREEN. When I arrived at the gate, a gentelman dressed in GREEN took my ticket. When I entered and saw the field and seating...more GREEN...and ADVERTISMENTS. I thought for a moment that I was at a LI Ducks Game. All that GREEN simply denotes America's favorite past-time has gone to the dogs; a day at Shea used to be a day away from your everyday worries whereas a day at Citifield is just a constant reminder that our ballpark is yet another casualty of the greedy. Please let our METS have their colors back!

I still love the old Shea Stadium. Really don't feel at home at CitiField and the name is awful. It should have stayed as Shea Stadium. We are huge Met Fans and will always call the home of the Mets, Shea Stadium. My kids, grew up there are disappointed in the name change. Really think, someone should have thought it through, afterall Yankee Stadium remains the same name. Very disappointed.

If MLB let us have an orange foul pole, (only non- yellow pole in the bigs) then WHY is the wall black? Bad enough Fab Freddie Wilpon let his ego and greed get away with the design of this MALLpark, why Giants orange and black? Tributes to the dodgers? Who cares? Wipon should'a bought the LA team if he's so in love with them. Hey wait, even the Dodgers colors are blue....ding dong anybody home? Where is the Mookie or Agee Rotunda? At least give us blue collar, Queens bred, die-hards some METS ambiance, some feel of the team that plays there.

It was the first thing I noticed when I turned on the TV for the preseason game vs the Red Sox. How could the walls not be Blue????? Than to be there in person looking at Black Walls with Orange writing on it for a second I thought I was at the home of the San Francisco Giants. PAINT THE WALLS BLUE!!!!!!!!!!!

Blue Hats and Pinstripe uni's. At the ballpark see very little Mets influence or history. A little reference to NY Giants and Polo Grounds would be nice. Remember, the New York Metropolitans replaced the Brooklyn Dodgers and New York Giants, as reflected in the original color scheme. Let's bow to the total history of the franchise.

I loved the stadium but there seems to be a lack of a Met's feel to it. Shea was a dump but you knew it belonged to the Mets with the color schemes. The blue walls should help in that department.
