Protect Precious Corals

Corals around the world are under threat from climate change, pollution, overfishing and consumer demand. Red and pink corals are deep-sea corals commonly used in jewelry and home decor. They are among the most valuable and widely traded of all coral species yet the least protected.

Support the protection of these precious natural resources by signing this petition, showing you support strong legislation to protect shallow water reefs and deep-sea corals, including:

- An Appendix II listing for red and pink coral under the Convention on International Trade in Endangered Species (CITES). This listing would provide much-needed monitoring and oversight to the currently unregulated red and pink coral trade.
- The reauthorization of the U.S. Coral Reef Conservation Act.

As a consumer, you can also show your support by refusing to purchase any products made with real coral, including jewelry and home decor items. With your commitment and these policy protections, together we can help safeguard corals for future generations.
