Remove IAMS adverts from Care2!!

IAMS, the pet-food giant subsidiary of Procter & Gamble, conducts evil experiments on the same animals they market their pet-food for.

Care2.com, the website naively used by so many people who DO care for the welfare of those with no voice, is right now plagued with adverts from IAMS, who have been experimenting on animals for a very long time, and against which and its parent company Procter & Gamble there is a worldwide campaign and boycott. Many of us are naturally very angry about this and have written to Care2.com to complain, but while some of us have been offered a lame answer, others have not even had a reply with an explanation about why they're allowing it, and meanwhile the offending ad keeps popping up on our screens.

IAMS / Eukanuba and Procter & Gamble do SO MANY evil experiments on animals, ranging from testing anything from cosmetics to oven cleaners on them and a hell of a lot more really evil experiments, that there is no space to try to explain it all here, so I'm pasting a few links so that everyone can see for themselves.

This petition is targeted at Randy Paynter, president of Care2.com, to ask him to remove these very offensive adverts from Care2 completely, and to prevent the Care2 website that we loved from looking hypocritical and from appearing as if it has no principles.

I asked kindly why these advertisements where being allowed, seems even Care2 is a slave to the almighty dollar. Randy and his gang should be ashamed, and yes, I said gang, cause you all do what you want anyway. Do you really "CARE" about your members? Or do you still know-it-all? A campaign to have your members become supporters makes more sense than taking money from a filthy company like Iams!

The Iams Corporation should be black-balled by consumer's and since it is on the consumer's products list of bad practice's we should do something about their company.. If enough people stay away from their products it will therefore cease to have productivety nescessary to exist.

This really disturbs and saddens me as a Care2 member. I have a whole list of companies (including their sister companies) that test on animals. IAM's is one of them. I refuse to buy ANY product from these companies and will continue to boycott them until they stop testing on animals. This is a cruel and inhumane practice done, not in the name of science as they would have you believe, but because they still receive HUGE grants for conducting archaic and unnecessary experiments on living creatures. That's right...UNNECESSARY....because every ingredient they test has been tested BEFORE ON ANIMALS AND THEY KNOW FULL WELL THE RESULTS. It is disgusting and once again it is all about the MONEY and innocent beings suffer horribly and die because of human greed! Care2, being the type of website it is purported to be, should under NO circumstances, have any adverts from ANY of these companies that test on animals....period. But I guess you have a price and you have been 'bought'. You've sold your soul to the devil. How sad. I used to be a proud Care2 member. Perhaps we need to boycott Care2 until you live up to your reputation and we (the members) no longer need to hang our heads in shame. And to the owner/writer of this petition....why stop at 600 signatures? I believe you can get many hundreds of 1000's from the animal lovers here and worldwide to show Care2 how wrong this is.

I hate people who torture animals for any reason. I am sometimes perplexed especially when I saw a video right here on care2 with members of Peta feeding animals with IAMS products. Why do they do these horrible tests?? I do not want my darling cat to live longer at the price of torturing other innocent souls. I do not want any animals to be tortured, not for any reason!

I too am very disappointed and angry to see that the supposed caring and green website care2 is not all that it claims to be. Allowing the advertising of companies such as proctor and gamble and also very importantly, mac donalds, is completely hypocritical and should have no place in this website. How can green, healthy and cruelty free living be promoted whilst supporting the companies that blatantly conflict these ideals. Please stop the advertising of such companies we should actually be campaigning against not ignorantly supporting.

Im sure NO pet owner would want the food they feed their own pets to have been experimented on similar animals. It seems very contradictorary indeed ! and something the public in general are not aware of. I disagree very strongly with this practice and do not support it.

I am a pet food manufacturer and was previously a researcher. I know how animals are treated in labs. I know that 'feeding trials' for pet foods are badly planned and executed and that the data are of low quality and value for determining a food's quality. I know that these tests are industry-regulated (which is the opposite form unbiased) for the sole purpose to promote pet foods that can be laced with toxins (aside from them not being wholesome in other ways - but that's a different story).

When there was the pet food scare a couple of years ago (I think that's when it was), my cat became sick from Iams food and the company refunded my entire vet bill. There is nothing more upsetting than to see your cat become ill from food that had a good reputation for being healthy. I have never bought Iams again and never plan to.
