Traffic Light at Foothill and Cieneguitas
This petition is a follow up to a petition drive 3 years ago concerning the desperate need for a traffic light at the treacherous intersection of Foothill and Cieneguitas in Santa Barbara.
There has been a fatal accident and numerous injury accidents including a 90 year old woman pedestrian being critically injured May 29, 2008. (Update - Sadly, Irene Witon passed away from her injuries on June 3.)
There are numerous daily near misses at this intersection which is near two schools, a city and school bus stop and contains a 5 lane pedestrian crosswalk with inadequte caution markings.
WE NEED THIS TRAFFIC LIGHT NOW!
