Save the Yarn at Wal-Mart

Target:
Wal-Mart
Sponsored by:
I'm sick and tired of the yarn being red tagged and depleted from stock.  Sometimes this is the closest (and most affordable) place for some people to get their yarn and crafting supplies!  I'm not the only one who feels this way, either.
I'm sick and tired of the yarn being red tagged and depleted from stock.  Sometimes this is the closest (and most affordable) place for some people to get their yarn and crafting supplies!  I'm not the only one who feels this way, either.
We the undersigned are demanding to keep the yarn selection at Wal-Mart.  It is important to have a variety of colors, brands, texture, and fibers of yarn available, as any yarn user knows.  Sometimes, Wal-Mart is the closest or only place that some people can get to or can afford for yarn.  The people who buy these things at Wal-Mart are also the same people who may buy food and clothing there as well.  Thank you for your attention to this matter.

I was so mad when I went to try to buy some yarn. There is no place that is reasonable to buy yarn around me now.

Middle Income People can only afford to shop at Wal-Mart. I buy my groceries, my husbands clothes, gifts for friends and mostly I get my crafting supplies: yarn, fabric, supplies. I like Wal=mart because the people are nice and always willing to help. I ask you please do not take the pleasures of fabric, yarn and supplies away from the stores.

I think WalMart should keep the above mentioned supplies because so many other stores are closing and we can always find it at Wal-Mart. Thank You. God Bless America

I think Wal Mart should keep the yarn and material and craft products in their stores, because if you want a one stop shopping this would be the place to go.They always had a good selection. and you always found that you might not buy or try to make it if you didn't happen see it.

I think that Wal Mart should keep a big selection of yarn and material in their stores, its supposed to be a one store stop.

I often don't have any other options when it comes to local shopping.

I live in a small town in the Ozarks, which has no local LYS.Without Wal-Marts large yarn selection those of us who knit or crochet would have no pllace at all locally to buy yarn or needles/hooks. In fact, we would love to see our yarn/crafts section expanded.

please keep yarn at walmart. Its a one stop place to shop for many needs, interests and hobbies.

I would HATE to see Walmart do away with their yarn and craft section.

I live in a small town, with very little selection in affordable yarn and craft supplies. Walmart is filling that niche for many in my community, as well as those from surrounding communities who come here to shop.

WAL-MART HAS ALWAYS HAD A GREAT SELECTION IN YARN. ON 11/3/08 THERE WAS A NOTICE IN THE PAPER THAT OUR BEN FRANKLIN CRAFT STORE IS GOING OUT OF BUSINESS. THAT LEAVES US JOANNE FABRIC'S AND MICHAELS' TO BUY YARN. BOTH PLACES HAVE A LIMITED SUPPLY OF YARN AND IT WAS ALWAYS GREAT TO GO TO WAL MART BECAUSE THEY CARRIED A VARIETY OF YARN. I VOLUNTEER AT THE HOSPITAL AND MAKE BOTH BABY AFGHANS AND BABY HATS FOR THE NEO NATAL WARD AND HAVE ALWAYS BOUGHT MY YARN AT WAL MART. I RECEIVED MANY COMPLIMENTS FOR THE BEAUTIFUL VARIGATED BABY YARN WAL MART CARRIED. I THINK WITH THE CLOSING OF THE BEN FRANKLIN STORE IN GREAT FALLS, MT THAT WAL MART WOULD DEFINITELY SEE AN INCREASE IN SALES.

THEY HAVE ALWAYS CARRIED A GREAT SELECTION OF YARN BOTH IN REGULAR AND BABY YARN

My local WalMart is the ONLY place I have to buy yarn and the supply is constantly decreasing. I have been hearing (rumours??) that all the stores will eventually close out all yarn sales. If this happens, I will have no alternative stores at which to buy my yarn supply, other than driving more than two hours, which isn't a good alternative.

I think WalMart should keep supplying it's stores with yarn and yarn craft stock, since it is such an enjoyable craft as well as keeping such supplies in a community that is in a cold weather area, the yarns are almost as important as the warm clothing!

I crochet for charity and Wal Mart has the best price on yarn. That difference adds up when you buy as much yarn as I do. Most of your smaller stores do not even carry yarn. Unless you have a large chain craft store in your area, you can't even find it.

I shop at Wal-Mart all the time, it is the one stop shopping place. If you take away the yarn, material and crafts, then we are forced to go else where.

Your price is compartable to that of Hobby Lobby, Jo-Ann's and Michaels. Widen your selection.

As high as gas prices are these days, Walmart is the only place that is close to my house that sell craft merchandise. Besides the traffic here is awful so I do not want to travel all across town wasting gas.

Walmart's craft section is really nice. Their items are very inexpensive, and it has a vast selection, and I would also like to see more.

I have been an avid crocheter for many years. In the past, I always found exactly what I needed at the local Wal-mart store, but in the recent year or so, I am finding the supply getting smaller and smaller. There is not another place in our town that I know of where you can get yarn. The crafters in our area are not just scrapbookers and such, we also like to crochet, knit and sew. Please bring back the better selection of yarns and supplies.

I think Wal-mart needs a good selection due to the fact that not everyone that goes to Wal-mart is looking for other stuff. We as crocheters and knitters would like to keep our business local and at Wal-mart, but need Wal-mart to be willing to keep a supply of products that gives us an opportunity to have something to choose from. Please consider our requests. Thank you

It is important to me that Wal-Mart keeps their yarn and crafts department because that is really the only place I really like to shop. I shop at Wal-Mart 2 or 3 times a week and I don't like having to run all over town looking for yarn. The prices are the beat I have seen.

It's the closest place for me to go and purchase yarn. There is a lot of seniors in my area and not everybody drives.

I think Wal Mart should keep a large selection of yarn because most of our wool shops are in the downtown area and not everybody lives downtown.

This is my closest yarn shop and I knit for charity on a regular basis. WalMart has the best everyday prices on yard and enables my continuing to do my part for charity

Each of the charities I knit for ask for different colors and weights of yarn and WalMart usually has a large selection I can count on.

One of the reasons I shop at Wal Mart is to buy Yarn, fabric and crafts. If they stop having these items I will buy my groceries at Winco(they're cheaper)

The Walmart closest to my home is where I do about 90% of my shopping. I do quite a bit of needlework that is donated to charities. If our Walmart cuts back on yarn or eliminates the craft section I will stop shopping there completely. There are grocery stores close by and I can switch. I shop at Walmart for the prices and convenience.

With gas prices high, it is needed to supply yarn affordably close to home for all of us.

The walmart yarn selection is important to me because i use it for my hair and the walmart brand is the only kind i since it is very unique yarn. Please dont take it away otherwise i would have one more reason NOT to go to walmart

Without a big selection people will eventually not even go to the yarn section thus keeping customers out of the store instead of in the store

Many Wal-marts are the closest store that carry yarn, fabric and other notions. It is a shame that someone who does not appreciate anything that's "hand made" is making the decisions for a company that has put many a small store out of business. I have bought hundreds of dollars worth of fabric, notions - buttons, zippers, thread, and other supplies - as well as yarn, needles, crochet hooks, and other notions - patterns, - everything that department sells really - that's usually the first department I go to when I visit any Wal-mart.

It would help if Wal-mart carried yarn that one actually wants to use. Baby yarn, Caron yarn, Simply Soft in particular - cotton yarns and cotton blends. Wool yarns, such as Lion Wool and Paton's wool - there are so many affordable brands. Shame on you for discontinuing these products. They may not carry the same profit margin as other products - but carrying these products promotes customer loyalty.

I shop Wal-Mart a lot and miss the opportunity to spend my craft dollars there as well as all my other needs. They use to carry a good line of yarn now it is small and useless, which sends me to Hobby Lobby and Micheals to spend my craft dollars. Please bring back the yarn to Wal-Mart so I can spend my Craft Dollars where I spend the rest of my money.

Wal-Mart is suppose to have everything under one roof, they do not they need to step up there yarn supply so everything can be under one roof. Why do you want to send us somewhere else? Hobby Lobby and Michaels also carry a lot of stuff you carry so they get more of our money which takes from you.

I live in a place that sometimes has snowstorms that are HUGE. If I can't get to a crafty place a few times a winter I might eat my left arm! Please keep the yarn and crafts at Wal*Mart - this includes fabric. We NEED this stuff!! Thanks

There are more yarn crafters than you know - and we need to have our yarn local and have variety. I count on Wal*Mart to be there for me (especially in the winter!)

WalMart sometimes has colors of yarn that other stores don't have and I use a variety of colors.

I make rectangles that are sewn into afghans for the wounded soldiers at 10 different hospitals. We have over 900 volunteers all over the country. In many small towns Walmart is the only place to buy yarn. Please do not discontinue the yarn department.

Walmart is a relatively inexpensive place to get my crafting needs. There are very few craft stores close by. I depend on Walmart to meet my needs.

Walmart needs to keep its supply because with today's economy, more people are buying the supplies to make what they need because they can't afford to buy pre-made items, or they make gifts to give for the same reason.

I was in my local Wal-Mart just last night and noticed the Peach's and Creme had been taken off the shelves and was in shopping carts. I asked the lady working in the yarn department what was going on with this yarn. She wasn't sure. I am asking Wal-Mart to keep this cotton yarn in stock.

I feel like most that of the people that i've read. I purchased Caron Yarn form the Waterloo Walmart and need several more skeins and only to find out that it is red tag and none in stock. If you carry a product that is a good seller as Caron you should continue that product or tell the buyer this that product is temporary. Fazing out the craft dept. is a big mistake. Maybe you should poll your public.

I crochet alot,,,,,,we don't have a Hobby Lobby in town and Michaels don't have everything. I have emailed Hobby Hobby many times to bring a Hobby Lobby store to town. Your selling out and if Hobby Lobby comes then they will get our yarn money, and other crafty moneys.

We don't have another store to carry a large seletion of yarn. the next biggest place is in Louisville KY. Its just to far away with todays gas prices.. Wal-mart needs to carry yarn and craft too weather its yarn , fabric, foam, beads, fabric, paints, art supplies, holidays supplies and more etc....the whole town needs it. Schools, colleges, scouts, churches etc...

i shop for yarn at walmart because it is usually all i can afford; also, sometimes i just need a good-quality acrylic!! NOT red heart, which seems to be all that is being carried currently. bring back the caron simply soft, and keep stocking the bernat softee chunky; i use both of them currently, mainly for winter hats and gifts.

many people cannot afford to shop at yarn stores, or want decent quality acrylics (NOT red heart!!). i do most of my grocery shopping at walmart, and like being able to pick up a few skeins for a project at the same time, without using more gas to go somewhere else.

It is important to me because the nearest place to get yarn would be 40 miles West to Des Moines. I do not buy a lot of it, but I am working on a project for preemie babies that did not make it and I need the yarn for little blankets for them to be buried with. http://www.precious-angels.org/how_we_help.html Blessings Teddy Van Hoosen (Mrs. James L.)

it's a great place to buy good quality yarn that's not as pricey as other places. I make a lot of hand knitted items for craft sales and gifts, and the yarn comes from Walmart!!

I rely on Wal Mart for affordable yarns in a great variety of colors.

I think Wal Mart should keep a wide variety of yarn b/c it's the only place that many people get their yarn and it would be a huge loss to the knitting community.

# 52:
5:21 am PDT, Oct 2, Karin Brown, Kansas
Because our community wants us to spend our dollars here and we have no other yarn outlet nearby. We have to drive an hour away to Wichita to find a yarn shop or Micheals/Hobby Lobby that carry yarn. Why make it even more difficult for the average American you already stole the material don't steal our yarn too.

It used to be great going into Walmart and finding more than half an isle full of yarn. Now it is almost depressing to go to the crafts department because there is no material in the majority of Walmarts and barely any yarn left. Walmart isn't here for the public they are starting to use the same business practices that turned people away from Kmart and was part of the big downfall of Ben Franklin stores...greed and wanting to sell high profit higher end products.....Too bad for you many knitters and crocheters now go to the yarn carrying stores and spend much of their hobby money there and will only use Walmart in a yarning emergency, therefore; lost customers and lost revenue.

Why Wal-Mart's yarn selection important to you: I shop at Wal-mart all the time and I find it useful that they are just around the corner from where I live and that they are open 24 hours

I think Wal-Mart should keep a big selection of yarn because:
