The Arts in all its forms are important for every age. To be able to express ourselves and to see and hear how others express themselves, we learn more about one another.

Please, realize the importance of keeping the arts in our schools in PA. We have alot of talented children in our communities and they need to have their talents brought out. These children are our future!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

The ARTS are a necessity of life. You worry about people turning to drugs? Without the arts being available and a positive expression, our young people will try to express themselves in negative means, DRUGS, VIOLANCE. The arts bring relief to pressures and get folks through dark times. Adults and children benefit and boost self esteme and remain a positive way for people of all ages to express themselves and relax. Sports are good to those that particapate but please remember, Who do you think design all the sport wear and media? ARTISTS! Please increase the support for the ARTS. ALL FORMS OF THE ARTS. We have made a positive difference to many on the edge of their own heartaches and brought them around through expressing themselves through the arts. Thank you. Rikki, Artist and Art teacher of children and adults

The arts are what help people to understand culture and accept people for who they are no matter where they are from. The arts help children to grow and develop.

I believe the arts are extremely important to everyone, but are critical to our children. I think we as a nation put too much emphasis on sports in our schools and not enough emphasis on the arts and creativity. As an older adult I still take classes in adult ballet and other forms of dance. My daughter-in-law teaches art in a local school district and uses her art in her everyday life. Sports have their place, but not to the extent that we as a nation have taken them. These athletes making more than those searching for cures for untreatable diseases. I think we should concentrate more on the arts from which our children can learn to think, create and be themselves. There is entirely too much competition and pressure being taught to our children. Let's give them the opportunity to express themselves in ways that can only help to build self-esteem and creativity something sorely missing and needed to our nation.

To ban art of any kind in the state of PA is by far one of the most idiotic things that I can think of. Be far more concerned with welfare fraud and the many people that abuse food stamps at the taxpayers cost. Art is beautiful, it is therapy, it is income, just to name a few, please if you have never thought of this, you need to rethink it. Put the issues at hand first and foremost, not banning art.

I grew up in PA and was exposed to the arts in my public schools and then choose to attend a state university and gain a visual arts degree. Since then I have gone on to have a very full creative and teaching career in the arts. I feel that my varied experiences in the arts in PA were strong and helped me be who I am. I have nieces and nephews living in PA and hope that you will bring the arts to them as you have done for families in the past.

The Arts are the basis of the world. I was lucky to have a family who was so grounded in the Arts and that started my love of it. I still mentor children in the schools in my area and teach dance. I also am a church children's choir director and teach music appreciation to the children. Please don't remove access for the future of our country.

I reside in Philadelphia County.

I am a music education major and I believe that music is a wonderfully beautiful thing that is a miracle to people of the world. I've personally experienced the healing aspects that music has to offer. It's the same with art. It is filled with healing aspects that people take for granted until they truly experience it.

I grew up in Montgomery County and I currently reside in Dauphin.

The arts is important because I have seen the impact of teaching and learning it has in the classroom. The arts touch us all. Without it we wouldn't have the dancers, singers, actors, and great musicians of today.

The arts are proven to be a valuable part of any students education in school and society. Students involved in the arts have higher graduation rates, higher SAT/PSSA scores, higher employment rates, lower crime involvement/drug use..the list can go on and on. Why would you take something so beneficial from students in a time of need.

The ARTS are a way to escape the everyday humdrum of life and provides an avenue and a means to decompress from everyday life. Provides our children with opportunities they might not have otherwise.
