The petition to Save the Arts in PA has reached its goal of 1800 signatures, which is great and we thank you. BUT...
The news as of yesterday, however, is not good. Our fight to save the arts has taken an unexpected and dire turn with the reemergence of Senate Bill 850, which calls for the total elimination of arts funding. This will have a serious negative impact on 100% of us. And it gets worse: on top of these cuts, they need to find an addditonal 1.7 BILLION in cuts.
We repeat: It is serious. It is grim. It is critical.
But it is far from hopeless. Your help is more essential now than ever. We cannot afford to give up.
We NEED YOU and YOUR FRIENDS on TUESDAY in Harrisburg...

As a signer to this petition and as a taxpayer in the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania, I agree that the Arts are vital to all our citizens. It is my position that the state budget must include a minimum of $14 million for fiscal year 2009-10.
As a signer to this petition and as a taxpayer in the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania, I believe that the Arts are critical to the well-being of all citizens. I fully support the position that the Arts must be a priority in the state budget and include a minimum of $14 million for fiscal year 2009-10 for the Arts.
