Since the beginning of time, crimes have been committed against children and are getting worse and worse especially in the United States. How many innocent children must shed their blood for us to realize that we are drowning in it? A law must be passed to make crimes against children a federal offense and to be served with capital punishment. With a law named after Shaniya Nicole Davis, a 5 year old girl who was abused and sold as a sex slave by her own mother and whose life was tragically cut short due to unspeakable violence, heinous crimes against children can finally be put to an end. If the United States can crack down on drug trafficking and carjacking, why can't the country crack down on protecting the lives of the most defenseless beings in the world...children? If the United States is a "civilized" country then why are children literally being thrown to the wolves and devoured? Children are not only our future but they are our present so let's stop leaving them in the past. The United States must unite in this issue not only from state to state but as the strong nation that it is and ask the question, "What about the children?"
We the undersigned believe that we must band together in making a safe haven for not only children in the United States but in the world.
