Stop Captive Hunting

There are over one thousand captive hunting ranches in the United States, half of them are in Texas.  It is a $1 billion a year industry.

These ranches offer all sorts of animals.  Deer, elk, bears, zebras and other exotic animals.  Even animals on the threatened species list like a West Caucasian Tuk, a goat antelope found only in the Caucasus Mountain range.

These animals are bought at auction, transported across state lines, fenced in and often  tranquilized so the "hunter" can get a guaranteed kill.  They also get to bring home the taxidermied body as a trophy to hang on their wall.

It is a farce to call these atrocities a hunt.  Even many hunters do not agree with the practice.

We the undersigned, respectfully request the passage of HR Bill 2210, known as The Sportsmanship in Hunting Act.  The barbaric practice of captive or canned hunting should not be allowed in a civilized country in this century.

Thank you for your careful consideration.
