Stop Charging the Sea Shepherd

Stop Charging the Sea Shepherd "Steve Irwin"Moorage Fees

Target:
Lord Mayor Campbell Newman

Recently the Sea Shepherd ship Steve Irwin
was forced to leave Melbourne when the berth that the ship had been
using for free for three years was suddenly changed to a $59,000 a
month moorage bill. In Brisbane the ship is being forced to pay over
$400 a day for moorage.

Meanwhile
the Japanese whaling fleet has just returned from the North Pacific
where they murdered 211 whales including 100 Sei whales, 59 Piked
whales, 50 Bryde%u2019s whales and 2 Sperm whales. All these species are
either endangered or threatened under international lists on endangered
and threatened species.

Despite the extra financial burden of
outlandish mooring fees and rising fuel costs, the Sea Shepherd
Conservation Society will be returning to the Southern Ocean Whale
Sanctuary to do what should be done in a whale sanctuary %u2013 protecting
whales.

Sea Shepherd and Paul Watson's vigilant fight against the inhuman brutality of the Japanese whalers. I wish to give a very straightforward explanation, especially now since "Whale Wars" came to television. Look at this: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=zqpXYOGZ9tQ The japanese whalers claim it's all for "Research". This is the message on the Japanese Whalers both. Just because one says it's their culture doesn't make it correct. This is against International laws of the sea, as always nobdy cares nor do many countries....... And you wonder why the world is the way it is!!!!! Thank You All for the work your doing and many of us back you all 100% !!!!!

Why would you all of a sudden start charging $400 per day for morrage charges. It seems like you are breaking under pressure, and from whom may I ask? If you had honestly believed in the severity of these issues and whales and their out come you would not be doing this to them. What changed YOUR MIND(MONEY?).If you have no regard for Whales, than you have no regard for any form of life, do you? The blood of these whales will tint your hands,it will be you who has to be held accountable..(AND THOSE LIKE YOU)I am so glad their are others who CARE.Remenber(OUT OF A THOUSAND EYES COME KNOWLEDGE,OUT OF ONE COMES WISDOM)There is power in words and power in people....

We, the people, speak out to you...Japan continues to kill our threatended and endangered whales, which only the Sea Shepherd organisation takes seriously...coz theyre there! how else would the world know what barbarians the Japanese really are...we will boycott Japanese goods, how's that for upsetting the 'big boys' corporate image? still think its a good idea to charge the Steve Irwin...for the love of life and our oceans...

We are very worried about the protection of Whales in the Australian Southern Ocean and the Sea Shepherd's worthy endeavours to keep the Japanese Whalers out of our territorial waters. This fee for mooring of the STEVE IRWIN is an unnecessary charge on an already battling environmental wild life warrior. Please cease immediately the +$400.00 per day for moorage.

I am sure that Brisbane/Queensland would not aid and abet in the slaughter of Rhinos. Please help stop the slaughter of what is left of our Whales, even for the memory of Steve Irwin. Thanks Don

Why dont you just give them a break. A charity can't afford that sort of mooring fees.

Please do not charge them any mooring fees. They need their funds to be policing the various areas and doing their conservation work. They are putting their lives on the line in every way and are doing the work which should be done / supported by national governments. Please help them, and if you will not help them at least do not hinder them -- this is a plea on all levels. Again, please waive the moorage bill. Respectfully, Cassandra Pappas

If the moorage can't be free, then a token amount should be negotiated.

it's all sum up to MONEY MATTERS. they kill to get rich & we pay to stop the killing. it's a never ending story. for all i know, there's not enough people & country involve in such matters to stop those killers. look at us today, we work so hard to help those marine creatures but still there's people who won't stop BUYING them. i think our actions should start with the buyers. SO DO YOUR PART TO STOP THOSE PEOPLE WHO ARE PAYING FOR THOSE KILLERS.
