We the undersigned request that you take a stand in the support of eliminating the sonic pollution present on today's Los Angeles streets. We are calling attention to another dimension of pollution, SONIC POLLUTION. The Los Angeles residents are being assaulted on a daily basis by sonic pollution. Loud motorcycles and automobiles pass by our children's sensitive ears roaring barbarically. Our discussions while sitting at an open air balcony restaurant are brutally interrupted disrespecting our human rights and the continuous improvement of our ecology. Sound awareness is increasing all over the world in European countries. Today in the 21st century a good amount of Americans use exhaustion pipes to increase the sound level of their motorcycles and automobiles, as they pass trough our neighborhoods. I suggest we start a movement here in our backyard and rapidly aim for a law that measures and prohibits the circulation of automobiles (including buses) and motorcycles that pass a certain level of decibels. If we have laws that require a smoke check every year why not require a decibel check? The laugh of a child immediately transforms into a cry, dogs annoyed start barking and the bird's singing is overshadowed by monstrous noises passing trough our neighborhood. God has given the human race a gift, that of eternal knowledge. Let's slowly start recognizing that knowledge within each and one of us and then firmly use it to our advantage, that of making the Los Angeles environment a cleaner and safer place.

Legislate enforcement and guidance of 'brotherly love' . It really shouldn't have to come to this.
all vehicles should be checked twice and loud stereos should be banned.
We can do this. We can bring noise pollution under control with just a little extra law enforcement because the people who make this noise know they are breaking the law. They have low self-esteem and/or are selfish and brutish and care not one iota for the people they disturb, the physical hurt they cause, the children they wake up or the elderly who cry out in their beds for quiet. I see this every day and I beg you to address this problem.
this is an issue for all of us.. i am especiall concerned with motorcycles and dirtbikes...
I hope we can stop this ... and I'm hoping that the government will find it in their hearts to do what is right.
Let's pass some decibel laws now!
As with everything else, if Duh'bya has any say, things will get worse. I finally figured it out, too late, if the American people want it he, Duh'bya, will make sure that we don't get it. Ergo, we should be critical of things and then he'll do what we need.
No decibel readers are needed for motorcycle enforcement. Street legal motorcycle mufflers will have a clearly visible EPA label which police can simply look for. EPA Title 40, Part 205, Subpart D (motorcycles) and Subpart E (motorcycle exhaust systems) Subpart D—Motorcycles http://ecfr.gpoaccess.gov/cgi/t/text/text-idx?c=ecfr&sid=9d2dcc1c4ab65a26531fdd1d7bf8e83d&rgn=div6&view=text&node=40:24.0.1.2.11.4&idno=40 Subpart E—Motorcycle Exhaust Systems http://ecfr.gpoaccess.gov/cgi/t/text/text-idx?c=ecfr;sid=9d2dcc1c4ab65a26531fdd1d7bf8e83d;rgn=div6;view=text;node=40%3A24.0.1.2.11.5;idno=40;cc=ecfr
Could we stop the Sonic Pollution by introducing a regulatory law which requires a decibel check on today's motorcycles and automobiles? How about the exhaustion pipes and their brutal assault on the Los Angeles streets?
