Tell Mr. Harper 10-year Olds Deserve Responses Too

This is a letter sent to the Prime Minister of Canada, the Right Honourable Stephen Harper, in August 2008 by a 10 year old concerned consumer just prior to the fall election.  Mr. Schellenberger's assistant notified Carley that the Prime Minister would not be responding to her letter due to the tone and language she used in the letter. 

Throughout the Canadian Federal election campaign of fall 2008, there was public concern about voter apathy among our young voters.  To deny Carley a response to her concern can only serve to perpetuate voter apathy, not remedy it.

Show Mr. Harper, ALL Canadians deserve to be heard and their concerns acknowledged.

Dear Karen,
The Prime Minister's Office informed us that they would not be responding to Carley's letter, given the tone and language used. In the meantime, we're working to get another response from CFIA that is acceptable to Ivan. Given Carley's interest in and disappointment with CFIA's feed regulations, I trust Ivan will keep her apprised of any future correspondence from CFIA officials. We'll keep you posted.
