Two men in Arkansas had their wedding announcement rejected by the Northwest Arkansas Times, a local newspaper.
Cody Renegar and Thomas Staed wanted to celebrate their engagement in the paper like many couples do, but the newspaper told them that company policy says they only put couples in the paper that will be legally recognized by the state.
It's not fair that heterosexual couples can celebrate their union in the paper, while homosexual couples cannot, regardless of whether their union is legal in Arkansas.
Please tell Northwest Arkansas Times to change their policy in printing wedding announcements. Their current policy is discriminatory, and everyone deserves to be able to celebrate their love openly.
Dear Northwest Arkansas Times,
Please change your wedding announcement policy to include gay couples. Everyone deserves to be able to celebrate their love openly, and it's discriminatory to not include them, regardless of whether their union is legal in Arkansas or not.
