How many more children have to be hurt? How many more children have to have their lives ruined? How many more children have to die? Our country needs to be tougher on child abusers, child molesters and child murderers. The abuse has to STOP!

In cases where there is no shadow of a doubt regarding the guilt of a child abuser/pedophile/kidnapper we should have much stronger penalties including death. The fact that these people commit crimes and are let free only to commit more is intolerable. Its time we start preventing child abuse before it happens. If an abuser is guilty one time they probably will repeat, therefore they must never be allowed in free society. That Ramos guy is a good example of someone who should have been fried n exterminated a long time ago.

I don't understand how the law is so laxed on child abusers. Parents who are abusers should have their children taken away from them and punished accordingly. Baby P (Peter) is a prime example. His mother, her boyfriend and the boyfriend's brother caused the death of the 17th month old and yet they are all eligible for parole in a number of years.

No child should have to endure the abuse they suffer today. I am a mother of 3 and I would spend the rest of my days behind bars if it ever happened to one of mine. Abuse is everywhere now. If laws were put in place years ago the problem would not be this bad now. Pedophiles are not scared b/c all they get is a slap on the wrist in most cases

The children are our future. We can't just look the other way while millions of children suffer. We must take a stand for the children whose parents will not. The innocent children cannot, so I will.

I was a single Mom and raised three children but it was during the years when child abuse was not so widely publicized. But now it is an everyday occurrance and it is done with no regard to the child. The penalty is worse for animal abuse than for our children. This needs to change..the penalty should be swift and according to the crime. A helpless child is so trusting and vulnerable but the sad part is that most of the time they don't even tell. These people that prey on our babies should not be allowed to walk the same earth as our innocent children. I have watched TV and the shows that set out to film these people coming to homes thinking that a child is alone only to be caught on camera and taken away by police but there are alot of them that repeat the same crime because the penalty is so lax. Where is the protection for our innocent,trusting children? We need to make new laws and enforce them to the max and put a stop to all this abuse.

In present times, those given the rights they should always have had include people of colour and those of varying sexual orientation. They have a voice. Victims of childhood sexual abuse have no such voice. Even as adults we are taugh by society to be silent, to be ashamed of who we are as if we chose what was done to us.
