Veterinary Burn Awareness

Dear Pet-Owners, Pet-Lovers and Pet-Care Professionals,

We want to share Tag's story with everybody who has a pet and everybody who works in the pet-health-care industry. What happened to Tag should be stopped. We don't want this this kind of negligence to happen to your innocent pet -- or if you are a veterinarian -- to your pet patients.

The narration and video show the sequence of events that occured after Tag (a 6 month old Pit Bull puppy) came home from her trip to the vet for a routine spay. The second and third degree burns that developed as a result from being on heat support -- that was either too hot or for too long -- was documented by Tag's owner over a period of 5 months.

The vet denies any liability and wrong-doing, initially blaming the burn on an injection Tag had received to control post-operative pain. The location of the burn is not even where this injection would have been given! After biopsy results indicated that the wound was a 2nd - 3rd degree burn, the vet told Tag's owner that it really didn't look that bad. No futher explanations or any apology whatsoever.

The reason for this petition is to create awareness but also to ask for your help. By signing this petition, Tag's owner will have the support she needs to hopefully receive reimbursement for Tag's medical expenses: weekly trips to a Vet Dermatologist in Denver.

Please show your support by signing this petition today!!
