Every year for over more than 50 years Japan goes down to the Southern Ocean whale sanctuary in Antarctica and begin there illegal whaling, In waters that is suppose to be protected by the International Whaling Commission (IWC) that created a law or moratorium passed in 1986 that bans all whaling due to the previous years of more than 20,000 whales slaughtered.

In the 1950's a treaty called " THE ANTARCTIC TREATY"  was being created. In this Treaty that was officially created and signed on December 1st, 1959 states four paragraphs down "On May 3rd, 1958, the United States proposed to the other 11 nations participating in the IGY that a conference be held, based on the points of agreement that had been reached in informal discussions." Thus includes 3 things.

"(1) that the legal status quo of the Antarctic Continent remain unchanged;

(2) that scientific cooperation continue;

(3) that the continent be used for peaceful purposes only."

If this is the case then why do environmentalist groups get harassed, rammed, smoke bombs, pepper spray and flash grenades thrown in there faces when they try to enforce the laws the government does not? And why do these groups get punished?


Last but not least on Friday, March 11, 2011 Japan was hit by a 9.0 magnitude earthquake creating a deadly 23 foot tsunami which left devastation to so many people leaving 15,839 dead and 3,647 people missing. Shortly after the earthquake over 200,000 residents were evacuated from the affected areas of the nuclear plant of two reactor partial meltdowns. Releasing radiation into the air harming not only the people in Japan but also there food, And the U.S military as well and our beautiful marine creatures. From this disaster Japan was given 30 million dollars plus donations to repair there country. But instead of using the money for great and needed use they have forgot about the people and funded a security whaling vessel that will harass the environmental group "Sea Shepherd" once more.

This must all be stopped, please sign this petition telling the U.S government to stop Japan from there Illegal commercial whaling and abide by there own laws.

So all that we ask of you is for you to abide by the laws in which we are suppose to follow. And we ask that you please stop this violent and illegal action the Japanese whalers continue. Only you have the power to make this happen. Please do not let the people down again.
