I wanted to start this petition on behalf of my own Dad, Charles R. Cassady , who thank god is made it through his tour(s) in the Vietnam War . It started even back in the 60's - 70's & possibly before then. I have heard stories from people / friends of soldiers coming back from war & being spit uopn , whom ever has done that in their lives should be ashamed of themselves ! When we see our soldiers we see a remarkable individual with such strength & valor - they should be properly shown our gratitude & appreciation !At the very least for their services to this country . No matter if they fight for us while here in the states or across international waters - I just recently found out through a WONDERFUL friend who is in the US Military , when for instance a police officer & or firefighters pass away or are even injured they are treated quite differently than our military . A flag is lowered in the death of such individuals , however this does NOT happen to our Military . This is Not right , I am all for the same exact treatment .Coming from a Marine Corps way of life ( my dad is a Marine) I would expect nothing less than our government respecting one of the very men & women who fought for them & their country & lower the flag in such respect & publicly acknowledge such ( not just a small mention in the news) .To now hearing such disgustingly wrong news. When one of our servicemen or women dies or is injured , the US flag is not lowered nor is the person actually respected in such way - any way besides something small is NOT ENOUGH IN MY EYES ! I would love to have OUR petition go to the proper places/ people in congress / government etc. Even our own President Barack Obama. Please help me in telling our government to give our men & women in our Military the proper RESPECT they so deserve, no matter if they have been taken from us during their tour(s) of duty ,or are still with us . I apologize I have gone through my petition and have made proper adjustments . I thank you,Sincerely Ms.Lori Carron

As the proud daughter and niece of Vietnam veterans, I agree. They deserve a lowered flag as much as cops & firefighters. They fought for all of us!!!!!!!!

Your signature is more than welcomed it's greatly needed. I am only doing what I feel I need to do , not to offend anyone . I know for a fact the overwhelming effects of a death or even accident within the military . If god forbid my own dad is taken from me I would fight for nothing less than a respectful proper acknowledgment . If you feel as I do then please join me in this fight for wht's right & spread the word to friends & family .God-bless, Thank you agin .
Peace,Light,Love ,Lori
