Abolish Misusing God's Name in Movies

Abolish Misusing God's Name in Movies

Target:
Motion Picture Association of America

Kids watching tvWhen people hear swearing, it doesn't just go through one ear and out the other.  It sticks in your brain and plays it over and over again.  Movies are the biggest influence of swearing.  It's where most of it comes from.  Cursing is in movies so that people will like the film better, but in a lot of cases, the swearing is completely pointless, and the audience would rather not hear the fowl language.  It's totally unfair that God's name is misused in movies.  It is disrespect not only to God, but also to all the millions who believe in God.

My goal is to get rid of misusing God's name--such as "O my God" and "Jeez"--and the word 'damn' from PG and PG-13 rated movies.

It's very hard for kids and teens to cleanse their minds and flush out all the bad stuff.  Help it become a little easier.

It is unjust how God's name is abused in movies.  Cursing God in movies influences so many people into doing so too.  We, the undersigned, are protesting so that you will consider to make sure no misuse of the Lord's name--such as 'O my God' and 'Jeez'--and the word 'damn' will be in PG and PG-13 rated movies.  It is a great disrespect to God and all the millions of people who believe in God.  Do not dishonor us anymore.  Please.  We ask that you abolish disgrace to God's name in movies.  Thank you very much for taking the time to read this.

Their is no need for curslng in movies. I have seen movies where the name of God was unnecessarily used so much that I lost track of the plot of the film; and left totally irritated and dissatified with the movie.

To me saying the Lords name in vain is worse than other profanity--even R rated profanity.

I whole heartedly agree that God's name has no place being used in a disrespectful manner in movies, etc.. When I hear his name being abused the question I ask myself what has God have to do with it ??

God is the creature of all the universe and everything. God gave us a very beautiful body and God in Quran says "we produced human in a beautiful morph". Show respect to God and his prophets and dont forbid these things

There is no reason that creative writers need to include cursing in their scripts. Let us learn to stop tolerating expressions of disrespect. We must urge the media to be inspired by vocabularies that properly articulate in ways that are not offensive and sinful. This is NOT the entertainment that I subscribe to, nor accept and pay for!

The right to freedom of speech and expression is limited to exclude the use of durrogatory and racist remarks, because it is acknowledged that these expressions are hurtful, damaging, and offensive. I personally am more offended to hear the Lord's name taken in vain than to hear a curse against myself. Words are containers for power and they can be used to uplift people or tear them down, to bless or to curse, to inlighten or decieve. The excessive use of profanity in pop culture and movies is deeply distressing to me because it spreads negativity. The misuse of the Lord's holy name is even more distressing because it gives people who don't know any better and innocent children the very wrong impression that this is an acceptable thing to do. The bible tells us that "You shall not use (or) repeat the name of the Lord your God in vain [that is, lightly or frivolously, in false affirmations or profanely]; for the Lord will not hold him guiltless who takes his name in vain." -Exodus 20:7, amplified version. Whether you personally believe this to be true or not, please show some respect for the many who do.

It is astounding that almost 99.9% of movies misuse the LORD's name. I have wondered why Christians stand for this I say it is time to stop supporting these movie's and stop buying ticket's and dvd's to these movies.
