ACT Out Against the SAT!

I'm a high school student; my father is an award-winning filmmaker, and together we uncovered startling evidence that proves standardized tests are totally unfair to many students.

If you've visited our website and watched our film at http://www.ACToutagainstSAT.com then you know the tests are biased against females, students whose second language is English, against minorities, students who can't afford quality test prep classes or tutors, and all those students who aren't good on standardized tests--even though they do great in school. And you know that the SAT Essay section is a complete joke.

We will bring these facts to the attention of Joyce E. Smith, President of the National Association of College Admission Counseling. She's in a position to help bring about change, so let's make sure that she hears us!

Our goal is to get 5,000 people to sign this petition
.
Thanks for your help and support.

We the undersigned believe that the ACTs and SATs should no longer be required for entrance to any college or university in the United States.

We have put this petition together to call your attention to how unfair and biased these tests are. The tests are unfair to females, minorities, students whose second language is English and students who can't afford quality test prep classes or tutors. Far too many students are at a disadvantage when taking these tests. Therefore:

We respectfully ask that you urge your members not to use ACT or SAT scores when evaluating whether a student qualifies for admission to college or when determining scholarships.
