Add Birds to the Humane Methods of Slaughter Act.

Chickens, turkeys, and other birds are not protected under the Humane Methods of Slaughter Act. The Humane Methods of Slaughter Act was designed to ensure a quicker, more painless death for livestock, but it is only limited to cattle, sheep, swine, goats, horses, mules, and other equines.

Unknown to most, billions of chickens, turkeys, and other birds are being killed in an appalling manner.
These animals are forced to live in a horrendous environment for their entire lifetimes, and then are put to death in the worst way possible for them.
They are shoved into miniscule crates, so overcrowded that they attack each other in irritation and confusion. They are forced to ingest drugs that cause them to grow so rapidly that their bodies cannot keep up, and they collapse from a variety of ailments. They are forced to live without food, water, and adequate shelter. Then, they are tormented and are not properly killed, still conscious and boiled alive. Some of the birds are abused in a far worse way.

An end needs to be made for the awful torture these animals endure.
