Add Koalas to Threatened Species list

Mr Garret, this petition is a call from people who care about the Koala (Phascolarctos cinereus) and to see if you could persuade Prof. Bob Beeton of the TSSC to have the koala added to the Threatened Species list as it is not only an aussie icon but more importantly it is one of our most loved native animals whos numbers are estimated between 40 and 80,000. They are heading for extinction due to disease and major habitat loss and need to be protected now for our future generations.
We the undersigned have created this petition to add the Koala to the
Threatened Species List which will allow them to become better protected from habitat destruction and infrastructure.
Current numbers are estimated at between 40000 and 80000 in the wild. Adding them to the Threatened Species List will ensure their protection and therefore help to restore their numbers in the wild.
Please help us protect one of our most loved native animals and secure their future for generations to come.
