Allow Companion-Animal Evacuations From Japan

  • by: Animal Advocates

Following the evactuation of U.S. nationals after the tragic earthquake and tsunami in Japan, evacuees are being denied the right to take their animal companions with them.

The official policy of the State Department  is that it does not evacuate animal companions. We recently also saw this during the Egyptian crises.

We urge the State Department to permanently change its policy and allow evacuees from Japan to take their animal companions with them.
